John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, is seriously considering stepping down from the nations highest court for personal reasons, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Roberts, known for his conservative judicial philosophy, has served on the Supreme Court since 2005, having been nominated by President George W. Bush after the death of former Chief William Rehnquist.
RadarOnline.com has been told that Roberts, 55, could announce his decision at any time.
The decision paves the way for President Barack Obama to make his second appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court following his first, Sonia Sotomayor.
I understand your point and agree somewhat, but this was on Drudge which is usually very responsible and reliable.
Your slander of the military as a whole amazes me. Though some might side with BO the majority would not; either in the ranks or most of the line officer corps. The military does not swear fealty to the president or congress; it swears to protect and defend the Constitution of the U.S. The last time the military was actually used against ordinary citizens in the manner you anticipate was when Dugout Doug MacArthur led troops against the Bonus Army of WWI vets camping out and protesting for payment of their long-promised war bonuses.
And now even that is gone.
Whew...
Update: RadarOnline.com has obtained new information that Justice Roberts will NOT resign. The justice will be staying on the bench.

Now at their site.
there is supposed eye witness testimony of homosexual encounters involving our dear leader [larry sinclair] which far outweighs the BS that was on that judicial gossip site link posted above, yet i don’t see any BREAKING NEWS talking about that anywhere.
Not to mention the massive biohazard from 10 million mind-numbed leftists (like Chrissy Matthews and Keith Overbite and their ilk) simultaneously having spontaneous orgasms in their pants just from hearing the rumor.
If McCain was elected, it would have just been a slower, undected crawl toward socialism.
Obama was absolutley necessary to revive true conservatism in this country — as long as we survive the experiment.

Almost makes you miss the good old days of Ash and A+Bert, eh?
Ridiculous!
LOL!
He better not.
that mental imagery was entirely unnecessary and may even be considered violative of the 8th amendment!
Heh. You noted, correctly, the presence of some hysteria on this thread, and likely agree that "sanity" is not in abundant supply.
My point was that the ruling and the "gay" rumor create an environment that feeds a "stepping down" rumor. Some people will conclude that the decision was driven by his being gay, etc. The "he's gay" rumor is pretty old, so that insinuation doesn't depend on this week's ruling.
Isn’t it time to at least put FALSE RUMOR in the headline?
Radaronline retracted the story and has now completely removed it.
This should stay up on FR this long with a minor update in the headline.
I’d like to see a more credible source beyond Radar Online before I believe this.
I think I’m going to burn down the country - for personal reasons - too.
So even if Roberts’ resignation is not true, you are all still screwed.
Jeff, you made my day by posting that.
Thank you.
the most ludicrous aspect was that the rumors swirling around Souter’s sexuality didn’t prompt any such prospects of him stepping down. in the extremely unlikely event that Roberts did turn out to be gay, why would it necessitate stepping down? i live in the DC area and i am a lawyer active in the legal community here, have NEVER heard rumors of Roberts being gay. sounds like wishful lib thinking to me.
Just found this! And thanks for the “news to him” -— as my pressure jumped at the first headline!!
So -— who is responsible for this? Where did Radaronline get this information in the first place?
