John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, is seriously considering stepping down from the nation’s highest court for personal reasons, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Roberts, known for his conservative judicial philosophy, has served on the Supreme Court since 2005, having been nominated by President George W. Bush after the death of former Chief William Rehnquist.

RadarOnline.com has been told that Roberts, 55, could announce his decision at any time.

The decision paves the way for President Barack Obama to make his second appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court following his first, Sonia Sotomayor.

...why are we posting a false rumor from a stupid site?

Maybe because the poster didn't know it was fake at the time she posted it?

It is sad to watch some many knee jerk reactionaries having a fit based on a false rumor. Seriously folks, the IQ of this forum is going way down.

"If true, this is a disaster. An historic turning point."

They must have impeachable dirt on him...that's all I can think of.

Roberts has to know that his leaving the SCOTUS would signal the end of The USA and most likely the beginning of the shooting part of CW2. If he is ANY kind of patriot ... he will stay until they literally carry him out boots first

If this is true, and if it happens, this will be the single biggest national disaster to occur during the Obamanation administration. We should all be praying that Roberts doesn’t do this.

some seizures in the past few years

..that's what I was thinking..he had a seizure while vacationing in Maine a few years ago... "benign idiopathic seizure" it was described as with "no identifiable physiological cause".

.."A source close to the chief justice told CNN that Roberts fell five to 10 feet after the seizure."

Whether this is false or not, I think it’s made us wake up to something.

I read a couple of days ago that Bambi wants to increase the membership of the Supreme Court, just as FDR tried to do.

We need to be vigilant.

If true, this would be an absolute disaster for the nation. What “personal reasons” could there possibly be for someone to quit on their country when their political beliefs are at stake? Ginsburg has had cancer, TWICE. Stevens is like 110. Makes no sense.

Roberts issued a ruling this week, that procedurally green-lighted Washington DC implementation of marriage for homosexuals. There have been insinuations that Roberts is gay. I suspect this resignation story is pure speculation/hype, of a sort that can naturally be built on recent events, and recently-illuminated insinuations.

That said, I will not be the least bit surprised if Roberts steps down from CJ position, or perhaps from the Court.
