I think Stupak has realized he cant trust them to change the abortion language after the fact. He said yesterday he didnt think the House would come close to passing the Senate bill on the promise of later reconciling the abortion language.

On another topic, I still dont understand how the House can pass a bill that originated in the Senate, since this is a revenue bill and revenue bills have to start in the House.

If the house simply enacts the Senate bill then the Senate parliamentarian will have nothing to say. The bill will just go to Obama. I have a hard time believing in that scenario though. The Senate bill has no public option. Socializing the health care system was the whole point of this exercise.

The whole phony "reconciliation" had to start with the House passing the Senate bill.

Just because a public option is not explicitly in the Senate bill doesn't mean that it can't be made to have one.

Recall how the libs have successfully abused every well-intentioned bill that has been signed into law -- the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Air & Water Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, etc., etc.

I assure you that, somewhere in the bowels of this monstrosity, there is an opening that the public option could emerge from.
