The dems can’t be THAT stupid. You are saying they house will vote for the cornhusker kickback? Whoa. If that happend Repubs will certainly take the house and senate in nov.
If this is signed into law it won’t matter a whole lot to the country who is kicked out of Congress in November and who is in control. It’s about barn doors and horses and all that.
The Democrats are many things. All evil. Stupid is not one of them.Neither is obama stupid. Thye sooner that notion is dispelled by Conservatives, the better off they will be. Both obama and the Democrats are evil. Stupid is the voters that elect them.
Here’s the “bad scenario” for Republicans, the one we hope the Democrats can’t figure out:
The House, stupidly believing the Senate will pass reconciliation, goes ahead and passes the Senate bill as-is. Obama signs it. At that moment, Obamacare is a REALITY. Nothing else matters.
However, because the democrats want to try to save their skin, they now make a new bill, “fixing” all the bad things in the Senate bill. They make it all about “budget”, and dubiously call it Reconciliation.
Let’s suppose Pelosi grows a brain, and adds the Stupak amendment to that bill. It also fixes the payoffs in the current law (remember, it’s a law now), and also adds the 4 republican ideas Obama mentioned.
The house squeaks out another 216-215 vote for this reconciliation measure. It goes to the senate.
OK, in that scenario, how do you, as a conservative, ask your senator to vote? Remember, Obamacare is LAW. All you are voting on now are 4 republican ideas for health care, the stupak amendment to ban federal funding for abortions, and removal of the doc fix and other payoffs you have complained about for months.
How do you vote NO to this reconciliation — it has everything in it you want, and makes the evil Obamacare LAW a little bit less evil. Voting no doesn’t stop Obamacare, it’s already law. All voting NO does is make the house democrats pay for trusting the senate — at the expense of funding abortion, leaving in the bribes, and refusing to enact republican ideas.
If the house democrats realize that in the end, the republicans can’t stand against a well-written reconciliation bill, they might have the courage to vote for the senate bill.
That’s why the key now is to show exactly how we are going to stop reconciliation from doing what the house democrats want. If they are convinced reconciliation will fail, they won’t vote for the senate bill. But if they ever are convinced to take the chance on the senate bill, the act of them PASSING the bill might make reconciliation more likely.
the Dems don’t care and that’s the scary part. They are fanatics and this is their religion. It’s worth it to them to achieve their Holy Grail.
