Obama: Time for health care debate is over
Associated Press via Breitbart ^ | March 3rd 2010 | Alan Fram

President Barack Obama urged Congress Wednesday to vote "up or down" on sweeping health care legislation in the next few weeks, endorsing a plan that denies Senate Republicans the right to kill the bill by stalling with a filibuster. "I don't see how another year of negotiations would help. Moreover, the insurance companies aren't starting over," Obama said, rejecting Republican calls to begin anew on an effort to remake the health care system.

Obama said he would put the healthcare debate on C-SPAN. He didn’t. He lied.

Obama said the debates would be an open forum. They weren’t. He lied.

For once Obama has it right.

The time for debate is over.

The time for civil war has arrived.

Agree. It's the only solution. The question is "how"? My guess is that some Red state will exercise the 10th Amendment and refuse to comply and technically secede from the Union.

Obama doesn’t give a damn what American citizens need or want. He only cares about what he wants.

Don’t we need a 2/3rds majority vote to over ride the bill? Am I remembering this correctly or would a simple majority be enough to repeal the bill?

It would require nothing more than a simple majority. Unfortunately, it would be vetoed. Better strategy is for the new congress just to ignore it and not fund it. This is not subject to a veto. If bammy wants to veto spending bills and make the case that congress isn’t funding his healthcare bill, that would be his cross to bear. Given the scenario outlined, I don’t think the American people would be all that upset.

What is wrong with you? don't you have any compassion for the less fortunate? you should be ashamed that you want to keep ANY money that you make for yourself! Don't you know that the good things in life are reserved for Obama and his cronies?

Your selfishness disgusts me!

(This is a sarcastic response, this is what the left really believes. They think you should pay all your income to the govt and they will give you your mat to sleep on and your bowl of rice to eat)

Health Care Reform is a power grab and a tool to destroy liberty.

Whose right is health care? Do you think it's yours? Hint: Only if you're a communist.

For heaven’s sake...I agree. Get it over with. Haven’t we discussed it enough. Let’s have an up and down vote. Now!

The Libs will push this through before March is out.

Then ... from April until November the Libs and the media will do the greatest hard sell of this fiasco to the public that has ever been seen. And the public will begin to buy it by November.

Dem loses in Nov. will not be as great as the general consensus has lead us to believe.

Say good by to the Insurance companies within 5 years ... or at least privet health insurance.

“Once again we get the “the time for debate is over.” Where have we heard that before?

Well, little boy, if the time debate is over, why wait a few weeks. Come on, schedule the vote for tomorrow at high noon. Do it now, no reason to delay. Unless, of course, you really don’t have the votes just yet, do you?”

Be thankful I say two weeks instead of 20 years. The Great Oz has spoken! Rarf! Roof! Oops! Pay no attention to that little man behind the curtain. The Great Oz has...uh...spoken...uh...

If they have enough backbone to do it and stick with it. Remember, the media will be blaming them - holding up healthcare benefits - just like they were blaming Bunning for putting all those road crews out of work and losing their healthcare.

I wish I knew exactly how and when the Second Civil War will start, I’d make a fortune on Internet gambling, but it’s coming - half the country stands for liberty and capitalism and the other half worships slavery and socialism. No compromise is possible. This is 1861 all over again and even the same political parties stand on opposite sides of the battle line.

A wise man once said, “He who forgets history is condemned to relive it.”

This is all about a notch on his belt.

He went into this proclaiming that seven or eight adminstrations had tried to pass this to no avail.

It is a do or die issue for him.

He’ll go down with the ship, and he may resign after the shipwreck.
