Don’t we need a 2/3rds majority vote to over ride the bill? Am I remembering this correctly or would a simple majority be enough to repeal the bill?

It would require nothing more than a simple majority. Unfortunately, it would be vetoed. Better strategy is for the new congress just to ignore it and not fund it. This is not subject to a veto. If bammy wants to veto spending bills and make the case that congress isn’t funding his healthcare bill, that would be his cross to bear. Given the scenario outlined, I don’t think the American people would be all that upset.

If they have enough backbone to do it and stick with it. Remember, the media will be blaming them - holding up healthcare benefits - just like they were blaming Bunning for putting all those road crews out of work and losing their healthcare.
