Heard that in September and again in December, how is your record... we shall see.

Oh, I HOPE that we don't and I think that Republicans did a good job today, but for the past two hours the Democrats have zeroed in on an argument that they will not let up on. Do you want Boehner's Plan which expands coverage to 3 million and costs more than ours or do you want our plan which expands coverage to 30 million?

I really do hope that the Blue Dogs will still vote no, but I have been listening to this "summit" for most of the day and in the last hour or so, many huge lies have come out.

Then make a Bill of the overlapping ideas, OBAMA!

That is what most of the Republicans have been asking for today. Go step by step and FIND those areas of overlap.

Now we see a game of chicken. Either Reid has 50 or he does not. Either Queen 9% Nancy has 217 or she does not. I’m betting not, or else they wouldn’t have to put on this Kabuki Theater.

Who won the election?
Who is President?
Who dominates Congress?

I didn’t say we didn’t have people fact-checking, I said while we were fact-checking and trying to explain complicated things in long essays, they were marching forward with more glorious hype - and winning.

Well that’s what *I* heard. Oh, yeah, we all want the public option too, right. Pardon me, I need to go vomit now. ;-\

It failed miserably as Republicans got a chance to keep saying they are listening to the American people and came equipped with facts not sob stories.

Our Republicans brought their “A” Team and the Dems their “C” team starting with the President.

A lot of fodder for some good campaign ads came out of this today especially ZERO basically calling us stupid for not caring about Senate rules and how many votes are needed.

early returns from even MSM looking VERY GOOD for our side.......Republicans prepared, Obama overwhelmed and had no help from his ‘bench’ Republicans brought docs, Dems brought bloviators

The House Republican Conference Press Office has collected some reviews of the health care summit, from sources that are hardly in the Republican camp. These reviews find that the Republicans did quite well.

CNN’s David Gergen:

The folks in the White House just must be kicking themselves right now. They thought that coming out of Baltimore when the President went in and was mesmerizing and commanding in front of the House Republicans that he could do that again here today. That would revive health care and would change the public opinion about their health care bill and they can go on to victory. Just the opposite has happened

CNN’s Gloria Borger:

The Republicans have been very effective today. They really did come to play. They were very smart.

They took on the substance of a very complex issue. ... But they really stuck to the substance of this issue and tried to get to the heart of it and I think did a very good job.

They came in with a plan. They mapped it out.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer:

It looks like the Republicans certainly showed up ready to play.

The Hill’s A.B. Stoddard:

I think we need to start out by acknowledging Republicans brought their ‘A Team.’ They had doctors knowledgeable about the system, they brought substance to the table, and they, I thought, expressed interest in the reform. I thought in the lecture from Senator John McCain and on the issue of transparency, I thought today the Democrats were pretty much on their knees.
