When a country forgets its history, it ceases to exist. That’s the plan I guess.

Wait a minute - this can’t be true because North Carolina is one of those places where the government schools are “different”, which, of course, justifies conservatives living in NC institutionalizing their children in government schools. This article must be wrong.

Absurd. Classical education has been replaced by indoctrination and social engineering.

I live in NC and home school. Just another reason to the long list of reason I won’t ever send my children back to the government indoctrination centers.

Oh, you’ve noticed that too? The “but MY school’s different!” response?

I guarantee none of this nonsense will ever happen at MY daughter’s school. Because her dad and I will be her teachers and her school will be the kitchen table.

Slap my Maypole and call me Algore.I’m shocked that the left would devalue our culture.

I live in NC and home school.

So do I, on both counts. And I'd put my kids' knowledge of US, world, and Bible history against any public-school kid's.

Truly, I feel sorry for those parents who can't either homeschool their kids or put them in private school. Our nation is being Hitler-Youth-ized, one student at a time.

Romans 1:25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Environmentalism is the worship of creation, rather than the Creator. Simply another tool of the Accuser.

Kidnap your children and brainwash them to be eco-warriors> these edu misfits don’t produce enough of their own children so they want to brainwash yours

Anybody reconsidering how “convenient” it is to abdicate your parental responsibilities to the government?

Yeah, I didn’t think so. Why should the parents take any responsibility for their own kids lives or educations? The government’s there to relieve the burden of raising the children you brought into the world.

A people gets the government they deserve.

just unbelievable...no wonder we are becoming a nation of dummies...

Not only dummies but people who don't know the founding principles of this country and what makes it unique. This way we buy the crap fed to us by people like 0-bow-mao when they preach that we're one of a family of nations. That our culture is no better than anyone else's. Always remember the progressives win power over long periods of time by getting to "the children". This is why they're so protective of the government monopoly on education.

Fox News covered this last night and it is truly outrageous.
They want to drop all history covering the Founding Fathers and the Civil War. American History would start just before the dawn of the Progressive Era. The rest would be replaced with a 9th. grade class on global social issues, primarily climate change.
