Gosh, what a unique idea. After all, like UFOs no one knows exactly where deficits come from. A panel commissioned by the smartest, well spoken light skinned person on planet earth will figure it out. And find a solution.

I think their report has already been written, and it can be boiled down to two words - raise taxes.

Why do we need a fricking ‘PANEL’???
Why can’t the President (and Congress-critters) finally ‘MAN-UP’ and CUT the bloated government???
To: SJackson
Some details remained in flux. Indeed. A cluster flux.

ways to reduce the federal budget deficit In the 2008 campaign, Obama was asked for specifics on how he would "reduce the deficit". His answer was basically: "I would invest in roads and bridges. I would invest in schools and hospitals. Most importantly, I would invest in green technology so that we can get our deficit under control."
Expect more of the same -- throw trillions of dollars at the deficit, in an effort to make it go away.

Another meeting. Another problem solved!
Meetings: The bastion of the unqualified manager.
Whenever a problem arises and a manager has no clue, he calls a meeting to see if anyone has an answer he can use.
If it works, it was his great decision.
If it fails, "Who came up with that lame idea."

That dog won’t hunt, Mr. President. In case you did not get the memo, the people have been “awakened” (sleeping giant that the Japs feared).
Panels / commissions (a k a smoky backrooms) are soooo 2009.
Fail!

Great idea. I hired a panel of Ivy League experts to find out why my household finances were in the Krapper. After 18 months of intensive study they determined that I spend more money than I earn. The biggest problem, they found, is that every time one of my teenagers goes on the rampage—screaming and slamming doors—I peel off a few $20s to buy some peace.
They told me to stop paying protection money.
Why didn’t I think of that?

So typical of Barry Zero...so far this is his governing style, create panels, hold summits, talk, talk, talk...and then do nothing. No tangible results. Try and convince the people you are doing something when really, you are doing nothing but playing golf. The man is a lightweight, an empty suit.
The definition of style over substance.

Oh goody, another blue ribbon panel to discuss how to not use the obvious solutions.
They will, once again, ACT as though they care and do nothing but raise taxes and “fees”.

Here’s your panel findings:
The deficit is too big.
Cut taxes, cut spending.
Thank you very much.

Obama to Create Panel to Study DeficitIt might a good idea to create a couple of committees to oversee that panel...you know, just in case they miss something important.;-)
