Polls are open.
Senate race in Massachusetts comes down to wire Read the article here: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-mass-senate19-2010jan19,0,6084655.story?track=rss
I’m not singling you out here, maggie— there are others on the thread this is addressed to also:
The RNC has been very wise in this election. They did NOT get involved in the public eye for a very good reason: the high number of liberal-leaning Independents in Massachusetts. Nevertheless, they HAVE been involved behind the scenes in a big way. Who do you think was responsible for scanning the MA voter roles and pinpointing 116,000 dead on the roles? They have been providing other valuable services, also, but did it in a perfect way so as to allow Brown to campaign without the albatross (in MA) of “simply part of the Republican machine”. They helped gain phone bank volunteers, but discouraged those who clearly had a Non-NewEngland accent, again - smart. They have organized lawyers and other anti-vote-fraud operations, again, relatively quietly. For similar reasons, Sarah Palin stayed completely away from this race, as did other unloved GOPers.
The national GOP structure did a masterful job in this election, and it is important that their good efforts be acknowledged.
By the way, it is often very misplaced for conservatives to hammer Michael Steele. In his position as head of the RNC, he is very constrained in expressing his views of candidates, races or states. In much the same way that Sarah Palin was constrained as vice-presidential candidate to give great deference to McCain, Steele is constrained to express far less conservative opinions and visions than he would often prefer to express, since his boss (ALL the state GOP organizations) have hugely varied needs and approaches.
This is one time that I have been very proud of the FReepers in their support of someone who they would typically scream is a RINO! Scott Brown WILL be far less conservative than most FReepers including me would prefer, but for a change, FR has been very supportive of the Republican who is reasonably conservative instead of moaning about his faults.
When will Coakley concede?

If it lives in any form whatsoever they know they have three years to "midnight legislate" it back to life, there is only so much we can do to halt the Marxist rule but Thank God we are doing it.
Sitting here with a head cold in Northern PA...I wish we could send you all of ours. You can have the ice, too, if you like ;-)
Momaw Nadon checking in:
