Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.
The network confirmed that Ms. Palin will appear on the networks programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person familiar with the deal said, though she will host an occasional series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series. Oliver L. North is the host of an occasionally running documentary series on the military called War Stories.
Many suspected that when Ms. Palin retired as the governor of Alaska last summer she was doing so to pursue some sort of career in television. The Fox News deal, however, would not seem to be all encompassing, and would appear to give her room for other pursuits, as well.

Today news broke that memoirist and former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin will appear on Fox News “on a regular basis” after striking a “multi-year deal” with the conservative news channel.
*snip*
Palin reportedly sold 300,000 copies of her memoir in a single week in 2009.
Last week Wiley dropped a book about Palin from NBC reporter Matthew Berger, deciding that “the marketplace changed.”

Nice move, Roger~!
What am I. Yesterday's chopped liver?
Well, I hope Fox News makes better use of her than they do of Zell Miller. Zell signed a multi-year contract as a Fox News consultant in 2003 or 2004, and Fox renewed the contract in 2008. I don’t remember seeing Zell on a Fox panel more than twice in all that time. More’s the pity.
Great. She has given herself a podium to fragment the democrat lies.
Exposure is excellent, unless you make mistakes.
Here’s to hoping Governor Palin will avoid the fox holes this type of opportunity can present.
I want Sarah to remain the breath of fresh air she was last year. I am hoping that all our hopes for her are realized.
Our nation needs someone right now, someone who can get us back on track. Here’s to that, whoever it turns out to be in 2012.
Go Sarah. Best of luck to you.
She never said she was running or that she wasn’t.
I’m sure she has an “out” clause. Like say - declaring a presidential run?
Wait....if Sarah will be a “regular”, does that mean she will have to die her hair blonde? (just kidding)
Seriously, a good move on part of Sarah and FNC.
She’s too smart to run now, in any case. The next election is for congress, and her role should be to work for the best candidates and help them win those races in the fall, and maybe contribute to improving the Republican leadership cadres.
By doing this, she will also increase her visibility and have more people see how bright she is, talking heads to the contrary. Yet she will not be a regular TV commentator—more of a frequent guest.
The Times, of course, wants to undermine her by implying that this means she’s out of politics. And Humblegunner never misses a chance to post negative comments on all the Sarah threads.
According to Public Policy Polling, Huckabee is the strongest candidate to challenge Obama in 2012.

Dearlord, NO!
Wooo-Hooo! This will give something for my husband to watch besides football! (Of course the Packers are out of it now, anyway.)
I love this. She trained in TV Journalism. This is a perfect fit, and she can come and go as she pleases. Besides, it will drive the other channels and the other news chicks nuts.
My first reaction was disappointment. I want her to be the next Pres. All I can think of is Huck, he nauseates me.
But, it may be good for her. I think it’s a little risky but she doesn’t play by the rules.
We’ll have to wait and see. Excellent move for FNC.
Plus, guess who gets any impactful news from her FIRST?
Hulu has the first three seasons of Lost in Space on their site.
If only I could spin that nicely:)
Great move for Gov. Palin’s visability.
Fox remains the only mainstream news outlet offering fair and balanced reporting. With Palin joining Fox, expect the liberal establishment to go bonkers.
Huck, you lovable Little Rocker...YOU sir have found your niche.
Huck does really well on his show. Its kinda gently prodding; yet quasi-conservative. And he plays bass.
What’s not to love?
Yep, him and Shep, I turn off...cannot tolerate either one of those two!
