On the air today, popular radio host Glenn Beck mocked "birthers" and claimed there is a concerted campaign to get those questioning Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility onto the airwaves a strategy Beck said would actually benefit Obama.
"There's always games being played behind the scenes at a talk radio show," Beck said. "Rush has always called them seminar callers. But instead of being coy with the seminar callers or with you, I'm just going to expose the game that is going on. Today there is a concerted effort on all radio stations to get birthers on the air."
"I have to tell you, are you working for the Barack Obama administration?" Beck scoffed. "I mean, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
The ongoing dialogue then spun off into ridicule as Beck caricatured those who question the sitting president's eligibility with straw-man arguments reminiscent of jibes made by Obama's apologists in other news outlets.
Beck defined birthers as people who believe Obama was born in Kenya or other foreign country, was raised as a Manchurian candidate and somehow brainwashed Hillary Clinton into not exposing his fraud. According to Beck's running joke, birthers believe someone maybe Obama's KGB "control" preemptively placed Obama's birth announcement in 1961 Hawaiian newspapers with a "roadmap" of getting an African man into office.

So, instead of looking like a bunch of nuts fighting a battle that the mainstream American thinks is a conspiracy theory at best
It is not a conspiracy theory, it is a conspiracy and our mainstream press is a major player. Without the complicity of the press Obama’s takeover of America would not have been possible. Where Fox and Beck fit into this scheme remains unclear to me. Fox gives us more of the truth than other media outlets but maybe it is just enough to make us think they are on our side.
And the Constitution has been violated only in the imaginations of people who want so desperately to believe in some nefarious conspiracy to usurp the Presidency.
I think you are exactly right. Somebody is pulling the strings, not just Obama’s but the whole cabal’s. Soros seems to be a prime candidate with the resources to make things happen.
By the way...Polls show that 51% of Republicans and 30% of the general public do NOT believe that Obama was born in the U.S. This poll was taken in July. The percentages are likely even higher now. These percentages would be far higher still if those who have doubts or questions were added to the total. As Obama’s popularity drops like a lead sinker these numbers will rise.
Obama’s eligibility is like a great big rotting MOOSE in the middle of the road on the way to the 2010 election. This many people with concerns about Obama’s eligibility can not all be “cranks” or STUPID! There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that anyone can tip toe around that stinking carcass in the road.
That Rush, Beck, Hannity, Ingram, Levine and the rest are essentially running businesses. Their product is credibility and honest reporting of the issues. By ignoring Obama’s eligibility they have seriously damaged their business brand name.
Personally, I have concluded that the talk show yappers have little commitment to conservatism or to the Constitution. When tyranny comes they will become willing Goebbels of the oligarchy. They will use their considerable talents to spit shine the jack boots crushing our necks. ( Your neck included.)
Where's the conspiracy?
It is easy to prove that one is a natural born citizen. An honest man would be **HONORED** to promptly prove that he is eligible to be in the White House.
FACT: Obama has not done this. ( No, conspiracy here. )
Those that dismiss this fact are neither conservative or defenders of the Constitution.
That is simply not true. It's amazing how birthers are so quick to believe the nonsense bloggers make up.
Oh, really? Pray tell, where does the constitution require him to provide proof, and to whom?
My proof is that we have no proof at all that he is a US citizen. None whatsoever. He has not provided anything at all that says he was born here.
The COLB, whose pictures have been posted on the interent, says he was born in Hawaii. Furthermore, Hawaii state officials have independently verified the state vital records show he was born in Hawaii.
That's sufficient to prove Hawaiian birth before any state or Federal court, as well as before any state or Federal agency.
In fact, he has gone to great lengths to refuse to provide any proof. He has spent about a million bucks trying to keep from having to show any proof. All his school records are even locked away.
And how, exactly, are his school records relevant to his eligibility?
Ditto -- and they don't call themselves "Move On" for nothing either.
Yep -- and you say that for a lot of us out here.
“The COLB, whose pictures have been posted on the interent, says he was born in Hawaii.”
No, it wasn’t. That was a forgery and was never placed there by Obama. That has been hashed, hashed, and re-hashed so many times that if you don’t know that by know you simply are a tool of Obama.
“Furthermore, Hawaii state officials have independently verified the state vital records show he was born in Hawaii.”
No, they did not. They simply said they had a birth record but never said he was born in Hawaii. Anyone can make a record of birth, any foreigner at any time. Hell, I could do it right now for my own birth. Hawaii never said they have a birth certificate showing Obama was born in Hawaii. Again, that has been hashed over so many times that if you are still trying to write that crap you are just another tool of Obama.
So, you don’t have any evidence to show he is a US citizen of any sort and can only repeat already disproven lies.
Nice try, but we aren’t that stupid.
Mr Beck is too busy trying to erase the "natural born citizen" clause from his copy of the Constitution to explain anything.
Your #124: Dead on!
Those guys are running a business. They know who their customers are and they know the only way they make money is to drive controversy. Rush might bring up the birth certificate issue but only then to slam it down. They need people divided on issues to drive their products.
What does "this thing is going nowhere" mean or have anything to do with it??? Is he a natural born citizen or not?
If you believe he is, then proudly say so and present your evidence and be done with it. In which case it has gone somewhere for you.
If he is not a natural born citizen, then this thing is going somewhere, and you can either be with him in his continuing fraud or against him in trying to rectify the fraud.
It's your choice -- the middle ground is quickly disappearing.
Personally, I no longer buy the products of Rush, Beck, Hannity, Coulter, Ingram..( and the rest)
1) We haven't had cable in the house in **years**!
2) I will never buy another one of their books or other on-line gizmos.
I first became irritated with them when they **refused** to call the enemy by its true name: COMMUNISM. I thought if I hear the term “radical leftist” one more time I would be terminally ill. They make the Marxist-fascists sound as friendly and non-threatening as a Norwegian.
Then came Obama’s eligibility. These yappers have KNOWN about this LONG, LONG, LONG before the election and they were SILENT!!! They continue to be silent.
They have ruined their business reputation. Their brand names are TRASHED as far as I am concerned.
By the way...We used to see Fox News in the hotels when we traveled. But....Now there is WiFi! Yes! We no longer even watch Fox on vacation. Instead we watch Hulu.
It is not a forgery, and the Obama campaign made a hard copy available to the people who photographed it and posted it on the internet.
No, they did not. They simply said they had a birth record but never said he was born in Hawaii.
Yes they did. The EXPLICITLY said he was born in Hawaii. See my profile for the supporting links.
Anyone can make a record of birth, any foreigner at any time. Hell, I could do it right now for my own birth.
And have it certified by the state? No way.
Ohh -- so we are only imagining that all those things coming out of the White House like the Chrysler bailout, Healthcare Deform, etc are unconstitutional. I got news for you: Unconstitutional does as Unconstitutional is.
Yep —
The COLB posted by the Obama campaign looks exactly like the type of documents Hawaii currently issues upon request. Representatives of Hawaii have so stated, although unlike the supposed “document experts” cited by the committed here, they have routinely and properly noted that they cannot make a definitive determination of authenticity without the document in hand. That doesn't mean they doubt it. It's just what competent professionals say because, well, they're competent and professional.
The COLB in question is simply a printout of the information in Hawaii's electronic database. That documentation was populated by the the original birth documentation. That's a blatantly obvious fact true in any state. If a current Hawaii printout says he was born in Hawaii, that's because the original documentation said it. Even if the original documentation was falsified, which there is no credible reason to believe, it succeeded. Hawaii certainly believes it's documentation says he was born there, and that would be the definitive opinion to any court.
States don't simply say they have the original documentation on file if they know a falsified state document is being prof erred in their name. They are under no privacy law obligations to protect a claim they know to be false. You can't read what they have said to imply they dispute Obama’s Hawaiian birth unless you willfully insist on doing so. They've said they don't know what else they do to address this and have called the whole controversy ridiculous.
And, yes, foreign born citizens can get birth certificates issued by US States. That is an obvious convenience in, for example, the case of adoptions. But states don't knowingly falsify the place of birth on such certificates. I know a young lady born in Korea and adopted in Hawaii. When she requested a COLB, she got one from the state of Hawaii that identifies her place of birth as Korea. I know another young man adopted from Peru who has a California birth certificate. It says he was born in Peru. It's really not mysterious.
I have to agree with Beck and the state of Hawaii. This is both the dumbest thing ever and ridiculous.
No. There's a valid case to be made that these actions are unconstitutional and the man who signed them into law overstepped his presidential authority. But if you try and argue these actions are unconstitutional because the man who signed them into law is not eligible to hold office, you will get laughed out of court every time and poison the water for future challenges.
