Glenn Beck on birther issue : 'Dumbest thing I've ever heard'
WorldNetDaily ^ | JANUARY 3, 2010 | Drew Zahn

Posted on 01/04/2010 7:24:46 PM PST by RobinMasters

On the air today, popular radio host Glenn Beck mocked "birthers" and claimed there is a concerted campaign to get those questioning Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility onto the airwaves – a strategy Beck said would actually benefit Obama.

"There's always games being played behind the scenes at a talk radio show," Beck said. "Rush has always called them seminar callers. But instead of being coy with the seminar callers or with you, I'm just going to expose the game that is going on. Today there is a concerted effort on all radio stations to get birthers on the air."

"I have to tell you, are you working for the Barack Obama administration?" Beck scoffed. "I mean, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

The ongoing dialogue then spun off into ridicule as Beck caricatured those who question the sitting president's eligibility with straw-man arguments reminiscent of jibes made by Obama's apologists in other news outlets.

Beck defined birthers as people who believe Obama was born in Kenya or other foreign country, was raised as a Manchurian candidate and somehow brainwashed Hillary Clinton into not exposing his fraud. According to Beck's running joke, birthers believe someone – maybe Obama's KGB "control" – preemptively placed Obama's birth announcement in 1961 Hawaiian newspapers with a "roadmap" of getting an African man into office.

Go back further than 1961 law.

If as Comrade Obama Jr claims his dad was Barak Hussein Obama Sr, of Kenya,
than it's not possible for Junior to be a Natural Born Citizen of the U.S.

At the time of the drafting and ratification of the United States constitution,
the definition of natural born citizen, combined both the principles of jus soli and jus sanguinis.

“The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens.
As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights. The society is supposed to desire this, in consequence of what it owes to its own preservation; and it is presumed, as matter of course, that each citizen, on entering into society, reserves to his children the right of becoming members of it. The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born. I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”
Emmerich De Vattel, (1714-1767,) Law of Nations, 1758, § 212, "Of the citizens and naturals."

As I have been posting on FR for several months, Beck, Rush and all of the other so called conservative talking boobleheads are all frauds by not addressing this issue in a meaningful and insightful manner.

Even Sarah Palin said Americans have a RIGHT to to Obama’s long form BC.

Hey Glenn, speak the truth to power!

They are loosing creds with conservatives more each day over this single issue. And that goes for all of these cowards.

I know several conservatives that have stopped watching or listening to these bozos over this one issue.

It isn’t about where it may go, it’s about knowing the truth and fighting for what is right.

Rush, Savage and Hannity

Of the three you mentioned I think only Savage has spokenon this issue to any meaningful degree.

Nobody cares about arcane arguments about such things as British dual citizenship.

Do you consider the Constitution to be an 'arcane' document, too?

Yes, some of us DO care. We care very much, in fact.

Mostly because WE don't believe the Constitution is a living document, but a LEGAL one carefully crafted by the Founders to insure the survival of the Republic.

If Beck thinks that the newspaper birth announcement is proof he should take a second to think. To wit, consider this: babies are born outside an hospital.

Me for example.

My birth certificate (the real one) is stamped DELAYED.

My parents registered me weeks after I was born at home. All it took was to fill out a form and have a doctor, midwife , or other sign it.

If Obama's birth announcement had a hospital name attached then Beck and other wise guys would have a point. On the other hand a delayed registration does not disprove a Hawaiian birth. I heard Beck's silly comments on Monday's radio show. It's given me cause to wonder about everything the guy says.

As for Hillary what did Obama's people have on her? IMO it's more likely the two-way ruinous information was MAD, mutually assured destruction.

Ditto.

Whether or not the natural citizen question will unseat Barack 0bama it is still *extremely* important to ask the legal questions.

Otherwise the Constitution is dead.

Suicide may be the way the country goes, but she's not dead yet.

Not as long as people like us are still around, anyhow!

BTW- Howdy, Vet!

This has nothing to do about where OBAMA was born. This is all about the Constitution of the United States and the requirement that a president has to be a Natural Born U.S. Citizen to be eligible for the office. Bottom line, this is all about whether or not the Constitution is the guide for America's future or will we go down the road to destruction. Looks like to me we are traveling on the broad road of destruction. We have a President that does not meet the requirements per the Constitution and many of his policies are in my view unconstitutional.

To: When do we get liberated?

I also agree with Beck...we need to put our time & energy on things we can do something about for example...the mid-term 2010 election...we MUST clean HOUSE & take back our country. If we go in many different direction...it will weaken us and we need be a strong majority of Americans & get rid of these people that are writing bills and ignoring the Constitution...we can put the birth certificate on the back burner for another day & time.

This thrashing of our Constitution by discounting those who want our Presidential eligibility requirements enforced sickens me. It also identifies Glenn with the opposition and thus I have lost respect for him and the others. Looks like we’re going down as this was the only chance to save our Republic.

Rush, Beck, Hannity, Ingram, Levine...and the rest are **entertainers**! Their only commitment is to their careers! Their commitment to the Constitution is a nanometer deep!

When tyranny comes these guys and gals will be the willing Goebbels of the oligarchy. They will use their prodigious talents to spit shine the jack boots crushing our necks.

Do you think the average American voter gives a crap about passports, college records and adoptive surnames? Face it, dwelling on this conspiracy nonsense is a loser for conservatives.

Those who don't care about the Constitution are NOT conservatives. It is really that simple.
