He said she also knocked down Cardinal Roger Etchegaray, who was taken to hospital for a check-up.

Pope needs a new offensive line more than the Skins.

There is a time to forgive. There is also a time to punish.

First things first.

The Pope is a great man. I would have taken the holy scepter and beat the snot out of her.

I wonder what the penalty for this is in Vatican City. Hopefully at least 5 years.

A small frail old man is knocked accosted down on his way to celebrate a mass for the birth of our redeemer and to pray for peace in the world.

There fixed based upon review of the video. The woman might have just wanted to hug the Pope.

The video DOES NOT SHOW that she knocked down the pope. She was stopped before she could even approach him. She did not even touch him at all.

Cool. I hope she’s getting her ass kicked and some security is getting reamed a new one

Reamed a new one!! Oh yeah!

That's what I like about religion and these religious people...There always so nice and forgiving...Especially during the Christmas season!

Merry Christmas!

There is a time to forgive. There is also a time to punish.

Mr Benedettini said the woman appeared to be mentally unstable

Hmmm

Looks to me like the guards intercepted the attacker before the Pope was harmed. From the video, I couldn’t even see the attacker - just the guards reacting.

Couldn’t have said it better. I’m afraid these kinds of evil acts have only just begun. Hatred towards Christians is not only tolerated, but fashionable.

You win.

Happy now?

Crashing into other people’s business is quite the past time.

Obamao crashed a meeting held by the chinese at Hoaxenhagen.

Some lamebrain crashes into the Pope.

The balloon boy’s family crashed into our concern for their little boy.

Seems most of us were more worried about other people’s safety than the perpetrators.

Furthermore, punishment and forgiveness are separate issues. A person is not un-forgiven because they are punished. I punish my children, and still forgive them. Forgiveness is between each person and God, and between each person and those they may have harmed. It’s not up to me to forgive the person who knocked down the Pope and I will not forgive them. That’s up to the Pope and up to God. The Pope being who was harmed and God being the ultimate judge.

This video is from last year (2008) and does not show tonight’s attack.
