Record Cold To hit Global Warming Conference (Copenhagen To Break Dec 17th Record by 7 Degrees!)
Observations of Weather underground reporting ^

Once again its bad timing for a global warming meeting as all time record cold temperatures are set to strike the the U.N. global warming conference in Copenhagen.
Last week "warmists" were confronted with reports that November Arctic Sea Ice growth exceeded the 1979-2000 average and that "in general, the ice edge is now at or slightly beyond its average location".
The bad timing for "warmists" this time is that Copenhagen, home to the UN global warming conference until December 18th, is set to break the all time low temperature record for December 17th.
Here is a screengrab of Copenhagen weather from Weather Underground for Dec 17th 2008 that shows the all time cold record for that date (24 degrees) was set on Dec 17th 1997:
As can be seen from this screen grab from Weather Underground, forecasters are predicting this record will be shattered by 7 degrees as temperatures dip down to a record low of 17 degrees on Thursday December 17th:

They should move the conference outside into a tent. They can enjoy all the warm weather they have been talking about. If it happens to get chilly, they can all talk some more. The hot air will be enough to send the tent soaring, just like Balloon Boy.

Not that I mind, but why do these idiots always schedule these things in the middle of the winter?

It seems the "Al Gore effect" (Record low temps or snow)
is in full force yet again.

The conference should absolutely be outside in a tent. Who do these people think they are, attending a conference in buildings warmed by evil fossil fuels spewing out that nasty product of combusion — Carbon Dioxide! To attend an event like this, all delegates should be required to sign a pledge card that they will stop emitting CO2. Period. End of Story.

THE GORE PARADOX EXPLAINED
Like me, this blog will be anti-Idiotarian in outlook. And since idiocy seems to be a booming commodity in an otherwise down market these days, it's likely I'll never lack for something to write about.
However, I suspect a good deal of my posts will be devoted to exposing the particular idiocy behind the environmental movement, which is also the subject of my screenplay Global Village Idiot.
If nothing else, it'll make my work go quickly; exposing the moral and philosophical idiocy of the "intellectuals" behind environmentalism will be like shooting sea-kittens in a barrel.
It's no surprise, then, that my first real post will harpoon the considerable blubber of former US Vice-president Al Gore, the Moby Dick of environmentalist sea-kittens and American political asterisk, who, in future generations, will enjoy the same degree of fame as the distinguished names of Horatio Seymour, Alton B. Parker and Rufus King.
Gore traveled to Washington, D.C. last week. As you might expect, the recently-discovered Gore Effect traveled with him. Our nation's capitol and much of the south was suddenly beset by plunging temperatures followed by freezing rain, inches of snow, and an Alpine glacier. I may be mistaken about the glacier, but not by much.

Perfect! Maybe the wings will ice on the planes and the cars will freeze up and the heat will go off. Then we can hear more about global warming. I am tired of hearing about it being so warm they are going to reduce our heat supplies....and it is below zero.

Off topic, but I’d have guessed the record low was Dec 1944 during the Bulge. It seemed northern Europe had one awfully cold winter back then.

For anyone who hasn't seen it,
this eerie video is the opening spot for the Copenhagen Climate Conference. It's like a political version of the Wizard of Oz.

Perhaps the Gaia worshipers should consider the possibility that Gaia LIKES CO2 and doesn't want emissions cut.
