A map of how California will be affected by climate change in the future was unveiled yesterday by state governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The map, which demonstrates the devastating effects of global warming in just a century, shows how San Francisco Airport would be completely underwater if sea levels were to rise by 150cm (60in).
The coastline on the map was also coloured, highlighting how nearly half a million Californians are at risk from rising sea levels.
The map, named CalAdapt, which was revealed at a press conference on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay by Mr Schwarzenegger and Google CEO Eric Schmidt, was created as part of a plan for the state to adapt to global warming.
'Within a century, Treasure Island, this place where we are right now, could be totally under water,' the governor said. 'It is technology in the end that will save us.'

He should sell these maps - I’d like to buy one!
I also voted for Arnold and then fled the state. I have not returned and will only return for a funeral in the immediate family. I told them that all this was coming. They laughed. They’re there and I’m here, 200 miles from the Atlantic coast in NC. Isn’t a safer place on the continent, even given hurricane risk.
But what do I know.
Then there are some benefits to global warming after all.
Hmmm. I do have roots there. My Mom was born there, and I have two uncles living in Purcell. Uh, got any mountians there? Mule Deer? ; )

And yes, it is a swindle- a fraud and a cheat and a scam-- a deliberately designed construct intended to con you out of things you hold dear-- money, prosperity, freedom... and a few other things, as well.
Yup, and I’m in Arizona. I still get the fun of seeing this first hand. I work in California. I get to mess with my friends living there daily.
Sounds like a true inspiration!
Is there a way to make the planet heat up faster?
good. that commode needed to be flushed out a long time ago.
And yes, it is a swindle- a fraud and a cheat and a scam— a deliberately designed construct intended to con you out of things you hold dear— money, prosperity, freedom...
And I hope Gore, Pelosi, Reid, Soros and scores of others invested fortunes in this hoax.
Remember, Arnold supports keeping the water shut off to the Central Valley farmers!!!!
The fish are having more sex than we know about. Like way down deep in the ocean. They are having so much sex that there are many more fish down there than there should be! And because of that all the new fish are taking up more space in the water. Which means that the seas are rising!
Trust me, this fish sex issue is real! I have studied it in great detail in my imagination so it is something we need to do something about and now!
The fish sex problem has been, of course, caused by man. If only we would have developed special condoms for the fish and taught them how to put them on. But no! We looked the other way and turned a blind eye while the fish were doing the nasty and displacing huge amounts of water which will make the seas rise and kill all human life!
As we all know, the US Constitution specifically has a clause in it, and I quote: "The federal government shall provide for the protection of citizens from the dangers of aquatic copulation". The founders knew about the fish sex and rising seas issue!
We need to fund studies so we can stop fish from having sex. We should spend more on it than we do on aids! I am super serial!
Lots of wonderful places to choose. Just make sure it’s deep RED (Texas certainly fits this bill).
But this would also mean no more Mythbusters!
No. But that is the point isn't it. We could huff and puff and never blow this house down. We just don't have that power, regardless of what Al Gore, or Aaa-nold says.
That is our priority one.
Let's make sure the map zeroes in on Al Gore's condo in the St. Regis complex one block from San Franciscos waterfront!!!
As I understand it, fire and brimstone raining down from the sky heat things up quite fast. No "cooking" (no pun intended) of climate data needed.
Remember Sodom and Gomorrah...
