Army officials plan to prevent media from covering Sarah Palin's appearance at Fort Bragg on Monday, saying they fear the event will turn into political grandstanding against President Barack Obama.
Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum told The Associated Press on Thursday that Army officials had decided to keep media away from Palin's book promotion at the North Carolina base.

McCollum said the Army did not want the event to become a platform for Palin supporters to express political opinions "directed against the commander in chief."

Please tell me this is satire... please...? I was in the military. You give up a certain amount of freedom of speech. When, exactly, did that turn into restricting others’ free speech?

They’ve become politicized. Their careers would be OVER if they were politically incorrect (ie, allowed the truth to be told).

Army Keeping Media From Palin Event (at Fort Bragg; Afraid of Obama's Wrath)It is becoming increasingly obvious to me, from subtle clues, that if the Obamination pursues his idea of a "private army," he and SEIU and ACORN will get their asses handed to them, physically as well as metaphorically...
All is not hopeless.

Sounds like Tom is not happy;
http://www.denverpost.com/movies/ci_13824852
Tom McCollum, told reporters that the post, which is one of the Army’s largest with a population of 51,000 soldiers — including more than 12,000 who live on the post — is saddled with 1950s-vintage housing that is not popular with soldiers.
Of the more than 12,000 in barracks at Fort Bragg, about 2,500 are in those built in the 1950s, Army spokesman Paul Boyce said.
“Are soldiers happy with living in the Korean War-era barracks? No,” McCollum said. They do not meet the expectations of today’s troops, although the Army has done what it can to improve living conditions, McCollum said, speaking by telephone from Fort Bragg.

Obamanistas don't like it when Americans are patriotic.
I see where the loyalty of the "leadership" truly is here, and it isn't to the Constitution or those who believe in it.
Do they kiss his ring when they report in?
