The initial hurried reports of thirteen people (including twelve U.S. soldiers) murdered, and dozens of others wounded, were just coming in. A pained Diane Sawyer was wishing aloud that Nidal Malik Hasan were named Smith. Her colleagues in what now passes for mainstream journalism were risibly theorizing that post-traumatic stress disorder must have snapped this non-combat Army psychiatrist one whod screamed Allahu akbar! while mowing down U.S. soldiers about to deploy to a Muslim country for a war hed made no secret of deploring; one whose only battlefield experience was the massacre hed just committed against unarmed men and women in a Fort Hood training center.
Then, like the cavalry, the FBI came riding to the PC rescue. The Federal Bureau of Lets Skip the Investigation pronounced that the killing was not terrorism. Forget about Islamic (or at least Islamist) terrorism. This mass murder wasnt even terrorism.
...snip...
To stop bad things from happening, you have to come to grips with what causes them. We wont. So even with its eyes on Muhammad, the FBI couldnt see a problem, because there were no obvious ties to known terrorists officially defined as the teeny-tiny fringe of faux Muslims from al-Qaeda whove hijacked the religion of peace. Muhammads ideology shared by tens of millions of Muslims was simply not our concern. And with Hasan, the biggest challenge was not whether to investigate an infiltrator wearing a neon Islamist sign, but how to promote him up the ladder and burnish our diversity cred while intimidating the suspicious into silence.
Mission accomplished.

What does she think? That people wouldn’t find out what he was up to if he had a more Anglo sounding name?
It was discovered soon enough what Richard “the shoe bomber” Reid was up to, and Reid’s name is about as ordinary as they come.
Rhetorical question: If, due to the fact that smallpox would kill large numbers of folks, it was felt necessary to wipe smallpox out, why is it not logical to wipe out any organism which is trying to kill large numbers of folks, like islamoscum?
The only solution as espoused in a recent excellent book by Robert Spencer is to bar all Muslims from immigrating to the US; AND by deporting all that are here!
As I noted here, the attack was treason, the attack was undoubtedly an act of jihad by a Salafi Muslim, but it was an attack on soldiers. Terrorism as a tactic involves attacking the general population to instill terror.
The insistence on calling all acts of war by non-state actors "terrorism" dilutes the meaning of the word and leads to incoherent policy.
And the key word is ALL! Every stinkin’ ONE of them!
Yes, Sawyer you wouldn't have had a problem condemning a right wing extremist christian, bible thumping gun carrying american.
Diana Sawyer you are one sick human being.
Exactly. BTW, does anybody know anything about his promotions? I read that all Army doctors are automatically majors, so that doesn't account for it; had he received other promotions? If so, when? I'm not sure how to look for this info.
Is B. Hussein Obama a Communist incompetent, pushing to destroy America? Let's pretend we don't see it and let's even call him G-d (per Evan Thomas).
Is the alleged mass murderer a Muslim jihadist or, appropriately for him, shouted allah akbar before this murderous act? Let's pretend we don't see it and even come up with something totally stupid such as secondhand ptsd.
America is now the evilest society in our history since the great witchhunts of the late 1600s (see Rifqa Bary in Atlas Shrugs).
Obama, Casey and Napolitano ......a sickening display by dispicable people! They are more concerned with the feelings of Muslims here and abroad than they are with the men and women of our military that sacrifice thier lives for thier sorry a##es. Absolulety despicable and unacceptable.

Dare to call it:
Treason.
Terrorism.

Dare to ask for the Death Penalty.

Doctors enter as O-3’s (Captain in the Army). Since the douchebag was an O-4 (Major) he was promoted once.
Late in the show she got a call from a woman who lost a Cousin in the shootings. Dr. Laura went ballistic saying that this was an act of Terrorism and don’t ever let anyone say anything different.
If the news media wants to live in a World of delusion, that’s their problem. If we’re going to deal with the World, we need realism.
I understand that when you become a psychiatrist you are automatically promoted to major.

Let's examine a couple of instances - the immediate reaction that Hasan wasn't even a Muslim, the insistence that he was a victim of hate crimes, or weirdly, post-traumatic stress disorder in the absence of any real trauma other than meeting truly traumatized soldiers. In its most distilled form it was a blatant lie off the teleprompter of 0bama himself - "we'll never understand what could have caused this."
In plain point of fact we understand perfectly well what motivated Hasan to murder as many unarmed people as he could. That is the modus operandi of the classical terrorist, and Hasan is an Islamic terrorist. It is clear where he received his ideology, his carefully nurtured resentment, and his conviction that mass murder would advance his cause. This is the Islam not of the innocent Iraqi citizens butchered by the thousands in their schools and marketplaces but the Islam of their murderers. And, as it turns out, the murderers of their protectors as well.
Hasan chose the Islam of the killers and acted out its worst exhortations. And he learned this Islam in the United States because it is here among us. Were there media more interested in representing these facts than in winning self-awarded prizes for sanctimony we wouldn't be having this discussion.
