You talk about “innocent” muslims maybe being as afraid of the radical muslims as we are. First, I dont know how muchI believe that, because there is such a thing as calling in an anonymous tip from a pay phone, but regardless, You see that as a reason not to attack them. I see that as exactly the problem. They dont see us as a threat. As a result, they will allow these cancers to dwell in their midst, because when the radicals do attack, they can always claim they did nothing because they were afraid to, and they know they will always get a soft heart and sypathetic ear.
The hell with them. They need to be more afraid of us than they are some pissant islamist. They need to be afraid to the point that if they hear of someone thinking of planning something that attends their mosque or lives in their neighborhood, they feel like they HAVE to tell.
Take it to foreign policy. In the wake of 9/11 If the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan, instead of getting happy meals and lectures on democracy, would have been told they had 30 days to hand over Bin Laden and every Taliban they could get their hands on, or the nukes would start falling, do you think we would still be hunting Bin Laden? Would we be in Afghanistan at all? But no, we had to make this palatable to the international community, and nukes had to be off the table.
Islam is clearly in a war with us. Time to answer the bell, and take off the kid gloves and this notion of fighting a fair and limited war.

None of the mosques or Islamic centers (and there are a few) near me are enclosed in concertina wire (which is illegal in New Jersey, but they don't have barbed wire, either). Further, there are Christian sects who do have their compounds inclosed in barbed wire, not to mention the polygamous Mormon sects and groups like the Branch Davidians. Remember them?

So did I, in the 1980s. Some of the Muslim students in the class were bothered by mention of the Satanic Verses in the text we were using and others weren't. Some were bothered that the professor showed Mohammad, Messenger of God and others weren't. I'm not denying that there are unpleasant and even dangerous Muslims. I'm saying that not all Muslims are unpleasant or dangerous and punishing the innocent because we are too lazy or indiscriminate to sort them out and ignoring important Constitutional rights in the process is not a just or reasonable course of action.
Yes, there are some Christians who believe you won’t get to Heaven unless you believe the way they believe. But they won’t kill you for it. They’ll leave that up to God.

In a closed area where the 43 were not armed and with possibly two semi-auto 9MM pistols and with possibly up to 33 round mags...not difficult at all. If not for an armed cop, this guy could have killed even more.

Then tell the mods to delete my replies and see if they do. There is a report abuse button. Feel free to use it. I'm not defending the murderer. He's slime. I'm defending people who had nothing to do with this murder against people advocating that they be blamed or even murdered despite having nothing to do with this attack.
And they didn't round up and murder those innocent Germans and Japanese (as well as Italians) and kill them (which is what some people seem to be advocating here) and in retrospect, a lot of people don't think that what was done to them was unjust. You may also notice that the Nisei soldiers, Japanese who fought for the United States during WW2, were commended for their brave service.
Yes, people ignore innocence when they are frightened but it doesn't mean that what they do when they are frightened is moral or just.
