Voters for the first time are blaming President Obama nearly as much as President Bush for the countrys continuing economic problems.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 49% still blame the economic situation on the recession that began under Bush. But 45% now say the nations economic problems are caused more by Obamas policies.
Just a month ago, 55% pointed the finger at Bush, while only 37% said the policies Obama has put in place since taking office were at fault. These findings had remained largely unchanged since May.
Sixty-two percent (62%) now trust their own judgment more than the presidents when it comes to the economic issues facing the nation, up three points from a month ago and up 13 points from early February. Twenty-seven percent (27%) trust Obamas economic judgment more, and 11% are not sure.

Obama owns this economy let there be no doubt.
I wonder, was there a similar poll about “blame” during the recession that Bush inherited or was it all overshadowed by 9/11?
It was said all along that if we had a recovery during the presidency of THE ONE, that he would “own” the recovery. However, he has chosen policies that guarantee no recovery, so it looks like he will “own” the recession/depression.
Poll also reflects that at least 49% of American voters are imbeciles
At my kids sports event, I overhear what other Connecticut parents talk about.
Those that support Obama are giving him a year from when he was put into office. I don’t see any basis for a recovery in the near future. Obama’s got two months, then his numbers will really tank.
Less Filling/Tastes Great
Is it wrong to say both are jointly responsible?
However, if we state that Bush made a mess, why is the guy who says he wants to clean up mixing bleach and ammonia together?
Of course, the more time passes, the more is belongs to Obama. Right now, I’d say 65-35 Obama-Bush.
After a very tough Winter ahead of all of us, the reality of who really caused this will begin to take focus. America is beginning to wake up from it's coma, which takes a painfully slow pace.
But, in the coming months and they (The SRM) can't sweep the dirt under the rug any longer, the public will see all the lies, the misinformation and corruption that the Democrats and the media have been feeding us for so long.
Even the media will be held accountable.
He and his staff took credit for the 3.5% GDP growth in the 3rd Qtr. In my book that means they own the economy.
This is one poll that should have those Commies worried. Its the only thing saving that fraud, so far.
Forget the current numbers. The month to month change is huge. If the economy takes a slide back (as most economists think it will), Obama's numbers will be in a free fall.
When the housing bubble popped, the very people whose government interference in the market precipitated the crisis went ballistic, charging lack of government regulation as the culprit. The Bush administration did nothing to counter the charges, and Disidente Juan McCain joined Barney Franks’ Greek chorus in blaming capitalism itself.
So now we face the specter of an American public who believe the Franks and Pelosis and the Michael Moores. All because of lying Democrats and their weak Republican enablers.
In business, you've got about a month to blame all your foibles on the guy that just left/got fired. A year for the president? I suppose if you're a supporter, but this poll seems to suggest that the less supportive are getting disenchanted, with more joining the disenchantment train daily.
Rush follows a certain theme even if it's not plausible
Hmmmmm...
October to January = 3 months.
January to November = 10 months.
I know it’s overly simplistic, but it’s at least on a level that half of all voters can understand.
You are being too kind. The actual number of imbeciles is above 50%, else why would we have The Won, Resident (Pres_ent) Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., or Barry Soetoro, or Mr Michelle Robinson, or Sock-Puppet, supposedly the son of an out-of-control teenager and a Kenyan exchange student, stopping by on occasion to the Oval Office?
So far as his source of nativity, I want to see som DNA evidence. Not only is he probably not genetically related to Barack Hussein Obama the elder, he may not even be the natural genetic offspring of Stanley Ann Dunham, either, but rather a child smuggled into the Hawaiian Islands, to replace a child who died at birth and was never reported. That would go far to explain the excessive caution in revealing actual documents concerning the circumstances of his supposed birth in Hawaii.
I positively want to see some DNA evidence.
And this is a legitmate question, the economy responds to market forces, and these market forces have a delayed effect to political decisions. Pres. Bush made some boneheaded decisions (he did initiate the bank bailouts, illegal immigration, and others); so I do not feel he is blameless in this situation.
However, the President determines foreign policy, Congress determines the economy. The Democrats spent money like drunken sailors, starting with the first term of Pres. GW Bush. Remember when he asked for money to fight the war; and Congress doubled that amount? Well, the Democrats certainly haven’t learned fiscal responsibility under Pre. Bush’s terms, why would Pres.Zero’s terms be any different?
Agreed
