"Today, I again seek to act for the good of our community,"
"It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so. I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my party will emerge stronger and our district and our nation can take an important step towards restoring the enduring strength and economic prosperity that has defined us for generations."
Now we need to get rid of Dagget who is messing up the race against Corzine in NJ.
I respect Scozzafava’s decision. Even liberals can do something right every once in a while.
Her name is still on the ballot. It changes some, but not all that much.
I second your comments!
Easy on old Newt.
Besides Newt was once considered a hero back in '94. It was how we did things back then. Newt would give the local nominee(left-of-center or not) support when the local nominee pledged his Contract. Newt was simply doing the same thing this time.
How many in Newt's Class of '94 were really RINO's who pledged the Contract just to get their RNCC money? Newt was smart then or so it was thought, but why not now?
Because times change. The political environment has changed, the internet and talk radio have grown and cable news has changed. So the public is now more informed, the strategy now changes, and the paradigm now shifts. The old buggy whip maker was valuable in his day. So was Newt, but he's not anymore.
Farewell, Newt.
The fact that she can’t decide who to throw her support to, the real Conservative or the liberal dumbocrat just shows what a big RINO she really is.
The real conservatives in the party can take back the party doing things like this. Keep it up, I’m sick of the Democrat-Lite wing of the party!
You do know there are just plan old republicans that have done that?
Hoffman support came on just recently. Many were backing her at first.
His first Tweet of the day today, made less than ten minutes ago:
"Delighted to learn that "to try mens souls" debuted at number 12 in publishers weekly survey People really like reading about washington"
Newt Gingrich (newtgingrich) on Twitter

I guess he'd rather plug his book and avoid talking about the elephant in the living room.
She needs to step up to a microphone and throw her support to Doug. Be very specific.
FNC had a Foxnews Alert. Carl Cameron did the report.
Pathetic, putrid, and oh-so predictable, isn't it?
Perhaps this will be a wake-up call to the professional class of politicians that the winds have truly shifted in this country, and that The People will no longer tolerate their compromise of basic American principles.
They didn't hear the people's heartfelt outpouring of support for Sarah Palin during the campaign. They didn't hear the tea parties last summer. They didn't hear the town halls. They didn't hear the 9/12 March on DC.
Maybe, just maybe, they'll hear us this time.
Are heads exploding at DU?
What a wonderful greeting to add a bit sunshine to this rather bleak day.
Newt’s own base is conservative, and he irritated them when he endorsed her. Better he’d stayed out of it.
As for hasty endorsements...Newt? Leave me some shred of illusion, that Newt Gingrich is not an amateurish, impulsive, foolish, or slipshod player.
Republican party leaders take heed. We are taking BACK the party!
It's not that I'm "into" it. It's standard FR practice, and general courtesy. You're just running down someone behind their back, otherwise.
Not cool.
Two thumbs up! RINOs getting the message?
Apparently someone at The Drudge Report is working this weekend!
