A Classic Polystrate Fossil (defies evo-assumption that the "present is key to the past")
ACTS&FACTS ^ | October 2009 | John D. Morris, Ph.D.

Posted on 10/22/2009 7:38:11 PM PDT by GodGunsGuts

Years ago, National Geographic published a remarkable photograph of a polystrate fossil, a fossilized tree that
extended stratigraphically upward through several layers of rock in Tennessee. Its roots were in a coal seam, and the
overlying deposits included bedded shale and thin carbon-rich layers. An advocate of any form of uniformitarianism
would believe that it took many, many years to deposit this sequence of layers (much longer than it takes for a tree
to grow and eventually die and decay), yet one vertical fossil extends through them all. This one fossilized tree offered
a direct contradiction to the evolutionary mantra that "the present is the key to the past"...

I think GGG is pretty funny, also.

Oh yeah, GGG is hilarious. Most people dont seem to appreciate his sense of humor. I know he comes off as kinda surly, but trust me, he's a great guy. We have had extensive conversations in the past on topics I cant really bring up here.

My remark was not to imply any limits on the power of God.

The Bible said six days. Whether God spent most of that on break is up to Him.

The Bible does not say when (how long ago) in human terms, that creation took place as far as I know.

If I missed something, please let me know.

Two nights ago, GGGs dedicated a late night thread to me! I admire GGG. He is one of the few here that will declare that God is the Intelligent Designer.

I remember reading somewhere that the Hebrew word was misinterpreted as ‘days’.

Can you post a link to that thread? We aren't close enough for him to dedicate a thread to me!

I thought everyone acknowledged that God was the Designer?

Metmom doesn’t.

You didn't imply. You stated.

“I don’t believe that you have to be a biblical YEC to go to heaven.”

Then you are at odds with the organization from which came the article you posted. You might even be going to hell, too, since you disagree with them.

I wasn’t taking a swipe at your beliefs, or personally attacking you. I was referring to the ICR bylaws.

“But I have told you that many times, so either you are a disruptor, or you are suffering from a degenerative brain disorder...or perhaps both.”

No, I don’t believe you’ve ever told me that evolutionists are not going to hell.

I am hurt and deeply offended that you would accuse me of being a disruptor or having a brain disorder. Please, in the future try to keep it together and not lash out at people. Temperance in one’s constitution goes a long way in providing a reason to sincerely consider the points one attempts to communicate.

With that, I bid you a good day, kind sir.

I would like you to quote where I put any limits on the boundless power of God.

Please.

The Bible stated six days, not me.

Rather than put words in his mouth, why don’t you quote him?

Behe is a Catholic, he would never say “God is dead”.

Now there was some graffiti scrawled on a bathroom stall at the University of Basel a while ago. The first line, read “God is dead”, signed Nietzsche, but was crossed out, and below it was the statement “Nietzsche is dead”, signed God.

Cheers!

"I really do not recall any age given for the planet in the Bible, only the length of time God needed to create it."

Behe would say anything for the right price.

“Nietzsche is dead”, signed God.

An example of taking God's name in vain.

Okay, golly, I'm becoming anti-semantic here...

Permit me to rephrase, "..the time God used to create it."

As I have said, the time frame for creation was written as 6 days in Genesis. I do not recall a specification of how long ago that happened.

Rather than put words in Behe’s mouth, why don’t you quote him? Maybe because you can’t?

An example of projection:
“Behe would say anything for the right price.”

I really don't see anything funny about your use of God's name in vain.
