Judge Land Fines Orly Taitz $20K, File Copy of Order with State Bar of CA
United States District Court (Georgia) ^ | 10/13/2009 | Judge Clay Land

Posted on 10/13/2009 7:45:31 AM PDT by BuckeyeTexan

When a lawyer files complaints and motions without a reasonable basis for believing that they are supported by existing law or a modification or extension of existing law, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer uses the courts as a platform for a political agenda disconnected from any legitimate legal cause of action, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer personally attacks opposing parties and disrespects the integrity of the judiciary, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer recklessly accuses a judge of violating the Judicial Code of Conduct with no supporting evidence beyond her dissatisfaction with the judge’s rulings, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law, that lawyer ceases to advance her cause or the ends of justice.

-snip-

Regrettably, the conduct of counsel Orly Taitz has crossed these lines, and Ms. Taitz must be sanctioned for her misconduct. After a full review of the sanctionable conduct, counsel’s conduct leading up to that conduct, and counsel’s response to the Court’s show cause order, the Court finds that a monetary penalty of $20,000.00 shall be imposed upon counsel Orly Taitz as punishment for her misconduct, as a deterrent to prevent future misconduct, and to protect the integrity of the Court. Payment shall be made to the United States, through the Middle District of Georgia Clerk’s Office, within thirty days of today’s Order. If counsel fails to pay the sanction due, the U.S. Attorney will be authorized to commence collection proceedings.

"The procedures may have been followed, but the procedures have been found to be lackadaisical and allowed an unvetted man to be on the ballot."

So change the procedures.

"Therefore the remedy is to vet him now and to ensure that proper vetting takes place going forward. You have heartburn with the attempt to vet him now. The idea that the citizenry do not have standing to have proof of eligibility is a gross misreading of the law."

You don't get to dream up new constitutional requirements just because you've suddenly decided after the fact the old ones weren't good enough. See my prior comments about trying to redefine the constitution and ignoring the law.

Where is you legal basis for a procedure to "vet him now"?

Never give up hope for vetting a questionable candidate or elected official. I’m not giving up hope, you shouldn’t either.

Do you support them even if they are delusional whack jobs?

Claiming the Judge was biased because he owns stock in Microsoft and Comcast makes her a delusional whack job.

Claiming the Judge met the AG in a coffee shop in Columbus, GA when the AG was actually in California makes her a delusional whack job.

This lady is nuttier than a fruitcake.

NJ allowed Roger Calero on the bellot for president and he is not a NBC so no one checks. That does not make it right.

"I think you probably answered right there. Curious that you’re so sensitive about it."

You are projecting.

"Again, the secrecy is curious and noted."

There's no secrecy involved. It's just you trying to make me the issue instead of the issues themselves. I told you if you had a legitimate reason for asking me a personal question I might answer. But you didn't even bother to offer one. That is what's telling.

20K is chicken feed.

Well I'm glad you're that well off. To me $20K would still be a lot of money.

The only thing crazier than Orly is every other lawyer, judge, legislator and citizen who could easily afford the cost of a suit, who hasn’t sued in some way so as to void the usurper.

The penalty will be imposed on them too. In increased taxes, fees, and loss of value in portfolios and holdings, in loss of freedom to make money.

In that regard, she’s the only sane one in the room.

So change the procedures.

Don't really need to, just needs to be clarified. Just need the Sec's of State to be told to enforce the constitutional requirement. In fact they have done so. Several states bumped the socialist candidate off the ballot this past election. And Eldridge Cleaver was dumped because he was not 35 years of age once upon a time. And many politicians have been dumped off ballots for all kindss of reasons. It's quite easy to do, unless you are a spineless politician.

That being said, i do support any additional legislation that forces the politicos to do their jobs.

You don't get to dream up new constitutional requirements just because you've suddenly decided after the fact the old ones weren't good enough.

The old ones are fine. Just enforce it. Which we will, and you are crying crocodile tears that it will sweep the marxist out of power.

Only if Judge Land is willing to get on a plane to testify at a hearing that would be held and forced to answer questions he'd rather not. It's that due process thingy.

He’s the idiot who started the name calling and disrespect. So I’m glad she’s slapping him back.

and FWIW, she did not claim Land met the AG in a coffee shop. She only claimed the AG was seen in the coffee shop. In fact she has an affidavit to that effect. True or not, it’s more than anything Obama has produced.

"Don't really need to, just needs to be clarified. Just need the Sec's of State to be told to enforce the constitutional requirement."

And where does clarification come from? What tells the Secretarys of State to check specific documentation? What does enforcing the constitutional requirement mean?

It's the law that does those things, and no law was violated. So change it.

"The old ones are fine. Just enforce it. Which we will, and you are crying crocodile tears that it will sweep the marxist out of power."

But the old ones aren't fine. No law was violated.

But your inability to argue the legal issues without resorting to insults is once again noted.

Did they even have “birth certificates” back in the time of our founding? Mostly not. But today we do, so let’s see it.

So you are advocatong a living Constitution?
