WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama pledged to end the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the military in a speech Saturday, but acknowledged to a cheering crowd that the policy changes he promised on the campaign trail are not coming as quickly as they expected.
"I will end 'don't ask-don't tell,'" Obama said at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, a gay civil rights advocacy group.
He did not give a timetable for the repeal of the law passed by Congress in 1993 and signed by President Bill Clinton, who also promised to repeal the ban on homosexuals in the military but was blunted by opposition in the military and Congress.

I have a friend that serves. He says there are a lot of open gays that serve, but the higher ups just look the other way because they can’t afford the troop losses.

“don’t ask don’t tell” is the law of the land decided by Congress and Signed by President Clinton, and Obama is going to wave his magic fairy wand and remove it just like that......
And the gays believe he will....

What he is saying is he will repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell” which basically tells homosexuals they can serve if they keep their private life private, which it should be anyway.
This was done by Clinton to avoid repealing the ban on gays in the military. So will repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell” make the policy revert to “no gays in the military?”
Muslims don’t tolerate homosexuals well. I’m not saying Obama is a practicing Muslim, which he clearly is not, but he was raised a Muslim and probably has deep personal convictions against homosexuality.
So the question then becomes, does he repeal DADT and also repeal the ban on homosexuals in the military? Is he merely throwing them a bone which will then revert to the previous policy? Or will he put aside his personal convictions as a craven politician is wont to do?
Based on what we have seen from Zero so far, his virulent narcissism probably won’t allow him to set his own personal convictions aside. I think the gay community will get a rude awakening when they realize that Obama has no intention of repealing DADT and the complete ban as well.

Let me try to understand. Normal, mentally and physically healthy people will choose to either resign from the military or not join while a few more sodomites will then enlist and serve meaning more sodomites will die. Is this a correct conclusion? And if so I don't see a real problem here. There are only 4.5 to 6 million sodomites in this country to begin with so??? I say if they want to be cannon fodder so bad let them. In fact make it mandatory for all sodomites to serve for all I care. Just make sure they are stationed in France.

Look at the bright side. With the new hate crimes bill just passed, anyone shooting at the “gays” in the military will also have the entire Federal gov. after them. What a friggen joke.
