Police are calling the Monday morning attack of a Belleville West High School student on a school bus racially motivated.
Two black juvenile suspects are in custody after they allegedly beat a white student on a bus heading to Belleville West, police and school officials said.

Seems every afternoon while waiting for the bus in the school parking lot.. they would take turns walking by to hit him in the head with a notebook..... strolling away as if nothing happened. When he dared to object...he was jumped.
We did prosecute......but that's a badge of honor for these kids. Since it was close to the end of the school year... we bought some property in the country and moved away. Best decision I ever made.
If we hold our schools accountable for the violence that occurs on their property and watch, won't they be forced to hold the students accountable for their individual behavior?
There are schools that are soooooooo horrible it would be better for a child to be completely illiterate and innumerate than to even step foot in them. (I **seriously** mean it!)
Even our nation's worst prisons have a better social environment and are safer than some of our government schools.
Could the parent or parents of this young man done a worse job? Well...That would be very hard to do. Almost any efforts by the parents of this victim would be safer and ( like have better academic results) that ever attending this snake pit ( misnamed “school”).
Oh...By the way...Is this the wonderful socialization that homeschoolers are missing? ( Just wondering.)
Finally, there will be posters who will relate how punching a bully in the nose taught them how to stick up for themselves. Sorry, but why are adults awarded millions in court, and children told that the same behavior it is good for them?
That's why the cameras are on the bus now. They are for "after the fact" whodunit legal wrangling. About the only thing the driver is able to do without risk of getting fired is call the police and wait on the side of the road for them to arrive and board the bus.
Fecking animals.
Where do they learn this hatred?
The parents need to call the police and press charges - don’t mess around with the school system. This is on tape. Throw the thugs off the bus and into a cell where they belong.
Not in our time, we went to different schools !!!!
Belleville is actually a very nice, racially mixed city. It is NOTHING like EStL.
Exactly!
The son of a friend was attacked by a gang of blacks in the hall of his high school. They broke his femur. As you point out, this isn't backyard “boys with be boys” stuff. This is an attack that can kill or permanently maim.
The young man was in the schools gifted and talented program, and for the most part, this group had their own classes. These high IQ students did, though, need to interact with the other students for gym, lunch, assemblies..etc.
The parents prosecuted. The black kids were declared guilty and ordered to pay expenses which they never did. And...These black boys were transfered to another school where I am certain they terrorized the other unsuspecting students and teachers.
My friend and her husband re-enrolled their son in the **same** school! Unbelievable! It had a gifted and talented program, you see, and they thought it might improve their son's chances for admission to an Ivy League school. ( It didn't.)
and wait on the side of the road for them to arrive and board the bus.

When seconds count, police are minutes away!
Pure hate.
That's some strong delusion.
Letter to the editor in the local Santa Cruz County California newspaper. White liberals just don’t get it.
A new civil war?
After I read Maureen Dowd’s editorial in Monday’s Sentinel entitled “The Subtle Racism Behind You lie!’,” I was quickly reminded of my years growing up below the Mason-Dixon line on the East Coast. In the 1950s and early 1960s, segregation was everywhere. I was born into it and took it for granted. Then I attended a historic university in Virginia. Many of my classmates had the confederate flag on their walls. Many of them used the N word without any qualms. It was as if they were still fighting the Civil War, as their ancestors had. These students from my past are now in power positions in this country. I agree with Ms. Dowd, that their racism is still there. It is just much more hidden. But when a South Carolina Congressman, yells out “You lie!” at the president of the United States during an official speech to Congress, I worry for our country. Are we still fighting the Civil War? Or is this just the beginnings of a new civil war?

See, ya’ll think like white people. Always the victim. Here’s the question:
Why not beat up the kid? What’s a good reason for not beating up the kid? I doubt they can think of any reasons. Suspension from school? Jail? Someone will fix it. Momma’s got your back.
This victim’s mother put him on that bus. She knew the risk and accepted it. Chances are, she’ll put him right back on that bus. And he’ll get beaten again. He might get killed because there isn’t a good enough reason NOT to kill him in the eyes of the kids on the bus. It’s just the reality of the situation.
You aren’t dealing with good kids who make a “mistake”. We live in a world of evil now.
Really.
Honest.
I believe it.
Oh ... 'heck'....
“Thats why in middle school now, my kids are in private school and homeschool.”
Back in the 70’s there was a documentary on racial unrest in the schools in Prov, RI. One black female student was quoted as saying that if there was a race riot in school she would pick out the kid with the blondest hair and bluest eyes and beat the #$#@ out of them. Well my babies matched that description to a T. That is when I decided no matter what I had to give up my children would not attend public school. Believe me it wasn’t easy but all 4 children went to private schools from pre k right through college and I never regretted the sacrifices.
All I can say is I would never put my children in such a situation - whatever it took.
There are plenty of deluded parents here on Free Republic.
Haven't we heard it all? Their child's school:
*Has Christian teachers ( who by the way are complicit in teaching children an godless curriculum that teaches children how to live life without God.)
* Their child's Christian teacher tries to sneak in a little Christian morality into their lessons. By doing so they teach the children that Christians are sneaky. ( Heard this one from a teacher at my church a few weeks ago. I did manage to be polite.)
* Their child's school has a Christmas tree.
* There is “In God we Trust” on a placard ( a relic of the 1930s) on the wall.
* Their children sing a Christmas carol or two.
* Their child's school has a Bible as literature course ( that teaches the children that the bible has cute stories.)
* Their child was valedictorian.
* Their child won a 3/4 of a million dollars in scholarships.
Etc....Oh! And.... For those Freepers who think I am **personally** attacking their children, **ALL** of these examples are from my neighborhood schools or the high school of my son-in-law. So...Please don't push the abuse button.
