'Totally Strange' Hurdia a Hurdle for Evolution
ICR ^ | September 9, 2009 | Brian Thomas, M.S.

Posted on 09/09/2009 10:05:48 AM PDT by GodGunsGuts

Cambrian rock layers contain fossils that represent almost every modern phylum of animal, plus many that are now extinct. One animal fossil in particular would win the weird prize, if there were one. Paleontologists have been piecing together this strange creature’s body parts, which look as though they were taken from an array of totally different sea animals. This variety of features eludes an evolutionary explanation.

The parts of this particular fossilized animal had previously been described separately and given different names, as though they belonged to different creatures. But a recent study revealed that all these parts came from just one “totally strange” sea creature...

I wish I understood this alliance between the YEC'ers and the ID'ers who are trying to remove all references to God in our society and replace it with 'Intelligent Designer'. The only way to combat that is to declare your faith in God as the Intelligent Designer.

And then you'd declare a *gotcha* that ID is just a way of sneaking creation in.

You guys need to decide what it is you think about ID. When it suits your purposes, it's backdoor creationism. Other times, it's trying to remove God from society.

Whatever is most convenient to use against creationists is what your current definition of an IDer is.

That's why nobody is playing your game.

Why do evos complain about quote mining when they do it themselves? Why condemn in creationists the very thing evos do themselves?

Actually, all your post does is demonstrate that IDers have more in common with evolutionists than they do with creationists.

“And then you’d declare a *gotcha* that ID is just a way of sneaking creation in.”

It is! Evolution and Christianity are perfectly compatible without the need to introduce more pseudoscience.

The purpose of this book is to help restore traditional Catholic theology on origins to its rightful place in the belief of Catholics. The traditional teaching of the Church on Creation, the Fall, and the Great Flood and its aftermath is clearly presented in the form of sixteen doctrines abstracted from the text of Genesis 1-11. The doctrines are defended on theological, philosophical and scientific grounds from assaults made on them from the sectors of biblical criticism and scientism. The author attempts to present a story of origins that evokes true and vivid images of the creation of the world and the primal history of the human species. Accurate, thorough and readable answers are given to many questions about origins that perplex the modern Catholic. The exposition is kept as non-technical as possible so that the book will be accessible to everyone. Not everyone will be able to understand everything that is presented, but every reader will find enough to set his thinking straight and to nourish his Catholic faith.

Foreword by Most. Rev. Robert Francis Vasa, Bishop of Baker

Haven't these evo-atheists ever heard of the Reformation? I mean, duh! And besides, it's more than just a little disingenuous of them to champion the Catholic Church, seeing how they hate them in every respect except one. And let's not forget the “New Atheists” who hate the Catholic Church despite huge concessions to the Temple of Darwin.

You go from a miss to a trifecta of error!
He speaks for Himself in the Bible, He says the first humans, Adam and Eve, were special creations, not evolved from animals and it's not trust in me that is the question but in His Word. The Lol is of no matter.

But I welcome anything you can point to in His Word that indicates God evolved life.

Is this somehow news to you? Are you really so clueless as to not be aware of the basic differences between Protestant and Catholic theology?

That of course does not change the fact that the historic position of the Catholic Church is young earth creationism.

I think that's your “Inner Eggplant” speaking to you and telling you that “Saint Ha Ha, Defender of the Faith” is really difficult to take seriously and that “In Hoc Signo Vinces” isn't Latin for “Just Say Cheese”.
