'Totally Strange' Hurdia a Hurdle for Evolution
ICR ^ | September 9, 2009 | Brian Thomas, M.S.

Posted on 09/09/2009 10:05:48 AM PDT by GodGunsGuts

Cambrian rock layers contain fossils that represent almost every modern phylum of animal, plus many that are now extinct. One animal fossil in particular would win the weird prize, if there were one. Paleontologists have been piecing together this strange creature’s body parts, which look as though they were taken from an array of totally different sea animals. This variety of features eludes an evolutionary explanation.

The parts of this particular fossilized animal had previously been described separately and given different names, as though they belonged to different creatures. But a recent study revealed that all these parts came from just one “totally strange” sea creature...

You trotted out this nonsense before...so I’ll just tell you once again you should consider a Christ centered church, and yes it could be a Catholic one or a Lutheran one, Baptist...whatever...

get into some Bible study and ask some knowledgable people what the Bible actually is, what Christianity actually means...

I would invite you to entertain the services of a cult deprogrammer but if you actually followedd through with this advice, you could knock down two birds with one stone and it would ultimately be the very best decision you could make!

“Hurdia was appropriately assigned its own unique phylum name.”

—Really? That phylum name being what? Does anyone have a clue what he’s talking about? From everything I’ve found “hurdia” is a genus uncontroversially in the family of Anomalocarididae, which is comprised of several other genera, and which are in the phylum Lobopodia.

“None of its features are transitional, but are instead found fully-formed in other creatures today that have no relationship to one another in any evolutionary scenario.”

—Actually, according to Science mag article he cited, it seems to fit in quite nicely:

Sorry, my faith isn’t so weak that I must rely on words above Christ. Yours, apparently, is.

So you believe the Bible over church doctrine and the traditions of men?

That's a start.

Not up to my challenge from post # 98?

Scared to try to support your “argument” outside of this echo chamber?

Just as I thought talks a good game, but talk is cheap.

Go ahead show how easy it is to send the “evo’s” crying.

Now is your chance…………

A Christian by definition, is a follower of Christ, not a follower of a church.

While a Christian can be a member of any denomination, being a member of a denomination does not, by default, make one a Christian, it simply makes one a member of a denomination. There are Christians and non-Christians who are members of denominations.

Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Church membership is not the defining criteria for being a Christian, being born again is.

Chrissy Fit Matthews....is that you?

I must admit I do get entertained by liberals and their handles...like whattajoke

and humble...gunner?

well “humble” anything...is a hoot!

ANY clue as to what the word meant before you chose it? LOL!

projections, hypocrisy, audacity of hopey-changey...what a mix!

Argumentum ad Hominem:

The fallacy of attacking the character or circumstances of an individual who is advancing a statement or an argument instead of trying to disprove the truth of the statement or the soundness of the argument. Often the argument is characterized simply as a personal attack.

1. The personal attack is also often termed an "ad personem argument": the statement or argument at issue is dropped from consideration or is ignored, and the locutor's character or circumstances are used to influence opinion.

2. The fallacy draws its appeal from the technique of "getting personal." The assumption is that what the locutor is saying is entirely or partially dictated by his character or special circumstances and so should be disregarded.

that they’re indeed liberals,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We must call the enemy who he is: COMMUNIST or MARXIST!

It's like a train line that moves in only one direction with no reverse gears on the train. Each so-called “liberal” program is merely a station stop. The final destination is and always has been: COMMUNISM!

Scratch a liberal and under his thin skin is a socialist. Dig a little deeper and you will soon find the Marxist nuclear fuel rod that drives everything he says and does.

( Yes, I am shouting. I am exasperated. Conservatives are deaf and blind.)

It is truly sad that the weak-faith stragglers within the various Christian faiths are so susceptible to cult programming. On reading your words, one can imagine a cult leader standing over you and reciting the words over and over until you finally get it right.

There is hope. You can escape the cult.

I say that as a real Christian.

According to evolutionary teaching, the “Geologic Column” is a map of evolutionary history. Supposedly all fossils fit into a specific order, simple to complex. However, some flaws are to be found. Recently, fish scales were found in the “Cambrian layer” when according to the “column”, fish did not appear until much later.

Do you have a source for the contention that fish appeared much later than the Cambrian? Because I've had no trouble finding sources that say fish with scales first appeared in the Cambrian period.

I don’t demand anything about children being indoctrinated.

I don’t have any lawsuits.

I don’t mind dissent.

So please tell me how your post (I’ll admit the last two paragraphs are beyond me) applies to me.

Really I think you must be some kind of nut.

Uhhhh yeah, right “whatever”...indeed.

Your very own posts, your very own words in the posts 16/19 exchange, kind of stick a fork in your new-found position shyness.
