If it were me, I wouldn’t beg for leniency. There’s more to be gained by being a martyr for the cause and making ND look worse than it already does (from a real RC perspective).

For many, tho, I understand that up to a year in the slammer and fines would have long term if not permanent damage to family and finances. It would be a financial burden to North Bend, too, and not particularly endear ND to the locals.

JPII wrote to the gov of VA some years ago seeking clemency for a horrendous murderer who was married to an Italian woman, and who may have been born there (don’t remember details). His plea was denied. VA returned the body to Italy for burial.

I don’t think the Pope should intercede for those arrested if he didn’t intercede to stop the BHO appearance. As I posted a bit ago, I’d rather do the time than beg Jenkins or anyone else for clemency. The judge on the other hand has to consider the jurisdiction’s finances and the cost to house/feed 88 nonviolent prisoners.

It seems that Jenkins would prefer to do Zero's bidding and spit on the pro-life movement.

Oh, sigh, it does seem so. That Fr. Jenkins would again turn his back on the prolife movement by not extending leniency.

Yet president Jenkins have repeatedly refused to seek such leniency or even answer the pro-lifers' requests for dialogue.

Jenkins is just another black eye on the Catholic show me the Money church.

If the Pope does not intervene and order Jenkins to drop the charges, then the Catholic Church should shut down! I am dead serious!!!!

Where is the outrage?????????????

Perhaps a better course would be to burn the chapel

That would get the Pope’s attention

I sent it to Father Jonathan at Fox News, as well as to the news dept. Why isn`t this a bigger story I ask?

If the Catholic Church can not stand up for the unborn, then they will not see the Kingdom of God...at least if I was in charge they would not! And that would be my take for and Christian denomination! My reading of the Scriptures is that The Lord Jesus/Mighty God, though Merciful and forgiving, will not over look this.

Abortion trumps all issues! Jesus said he formed each of us in the womb. I challenge anybody that says they are Christian, yet also says they are pro choice! I CHALLENGE

“The general council's office of Notre Dame has responded to me by saying that Fr. Jenkins has no interest in discussing these matters any further,” pro-life attorney Tom Dixon,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The scandal continues to grow.

This “Father” Jenkins not only showed **profound** disrespect to the teachings of the Catholic Church, he is a mean spirited jerk as well.

Please,...If you know anyone who has considered applying to Notre Dame, please attempt to dissuade them. If you know alumni, please encourage them to never give any money to this CINO school.

and Rome is silent.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And...Rome is silent....Which says plenty about the highest leadership of the Catholic Church.

Father Weslin ,who carried this Cross, has been jailed many times for civil disobedience during the 1980’s Rescue Movement days and has also gone to federal prison twice [for challenging The Face Act]. His crime — trying to protect women and children from abortion at the death mills.

Who could ever imagine that a Catholic institution would be willing to put a priest in jail for praying on its campus??

I know Father Weslin and I know that he will go to jail again for doing what he knows is right and just. He has never paid into a system that allows the killing of one of God’s innocent little children.

“A nation that kills its own children is a nation without hope.” John Paul II
