Wormer was correct. Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life. An immeasurable swath of America has not heeded his advice. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 66% of adults over the age of 20 are overweight or obese. That is approximately 140 million adults. Somewhere between 15 and 20 million Americans can be classified as alcoholics.

Well, I’m not stupid and the song goes “2 out of three ain’t bad.” I’ve been trying to lose weight on the Twinkie diet but it’s getting me nowhere.
I don’t know about this thread man... you do realize that 66% of the Freepers fall into this category too? Sure... being overweight is dangerous to your health and it is hard to get lean... but I don’t think it is real cool to make fun of overweight people...
It's none of the government's business how many Americans are fat, drunk or stupid. They are not The People's Mom.
Of course, the whole point of socialized medical care is that it provides the rationalization for government control of our food, alcohol, tobacco, and medicine intake.
Public schools already decide what today's children need to know to not be "stupid" anymore.

Yeah, it's a pet peeve of mine, mostly because I miss the sound of a 6oz. green glass bottle of perfectly made coke (with real sugar , etc.) slammin' down the shooot of an old red coke machine when I shove a real dime made from real silver in it.

That’s because you are supposed to deep fry them and then dust them with powdered sugar and drizzle that with chocolate sauce prior to eating.
