Chile detected the H1N1 swine flu virus in turkeys, authorities said on Thursday, the first time the virus has been found outside humans or pigs.
Chile's farming and livestock agency SAG said the flu outbreak had been controlled at the two farms 75 miles (120 km) west of the capital Santiago.

Probably polio, but by those dates the vaccine was on the sugar cube, if it was even given then.
I remember the sugar cubes. Parents did have to give permission first.

I’ve been corrected. It was a flu vaccine. I was out of high school then (but in college). I just don’t recall the mandantory shots.
