Taxpayers foot the bill at University Medical Center
Anyone who thinks illegal immigration is an insignificant wedge issue in this country's already-divisive debate over health care reform need only look at Page 18A of Sunday's Review-Journal. In a picture worth significantly more than a thousand words, three uninsured illegals lie in beds at University Medical Center, receiving emergency dialysis at a cost of between $11,000 and $18,000 apiece.
Eviscerating any claim that illegals impose a miniscule burden on our health care system, the Review-Journal's Paul Harasim reports that 80 illegal immigrants with failing kidneys are receiving about $2 million worth of dialysis treatments each month at UMC. Brian Brannman, UMC's chief financial officer, projects that these 80 people alone will be responsible for about 35 percent of the public hospital's estimated $70 million deficit in the new fiscal year.
Bills for uncompensated care are forwarded to the recession-ravaged taxpayers of Clark County.
"The federal government kicked the can down the road on the immigration issue and gave the bill to us," Mr. Brannman said. "This is a federal policy failure that is driving huge health care costs to our citizens

Imagine what would happen if, citizenship records were kept and after the patient was stable enough to be transported back to their home country, the cost for providing their health care and the cost of deportation was deducted from foreign aid payments to the illegals home countries?
Wonder if these foreign countries (MEXICO) would stop encouraging them to come here and send their hard earned money back there?

Jobs Americans Won’t Do? A Detailed Look at Immigrant Employment by Occupation

Excerpt: This analysis tests the often-made argument that immigrants only do jobs Americans don’t want. If the argument is correct, there should be occupations comprised entirely or almost entirely of immigrants. But Census Bureau data collected from 2005 to 2007, which allow for very detailed analysis, show that even before the recession there were only a tiny number of majority-immigrant occupations.
Among the findings:
* Of the 465 civilian occupations, only four are majority immigrant. These four occupations account for less than 1 percent of the total U.S. workforce. Moreover, native-born Americans comprise 47 percent of workers in these occupations.
* Many jobs often thought to be overwhelmingly immigrant are in fact majority native-born:
o Maids and housekeepers: 55 percent native-born
o Taxi drivers and chauffeurs: 58 percent native-born
o Butchers and meat processors: 63 percent native-born
o Grounds maintenance workers: 65 percent native-born
o Construction laborers: 65 percent native-born
o Porters, bellhops, and concierges: 71 percent native-born
o Janitors: 75 percent native-born
* There are 93 occupations in which 20 percent or more of workers are immigrants. These high-immigrant occupations are primarily, but not exclusively, lower-wage jobs that require relatively little formal education.
* There are 23.6 million natives in these high-immigrant occupations (20 percent or more immigrant). These occupations include 19 percent of all native workers.
* Most natives do not face significant job competition from immigrants; however, those who do tend to be less-educated and poorer than those who face relatively little competition from immigrants.
* In high-immigrant occupations, 57 percent of natives have no more than a high school education. In occupations that are less than 20 percent immigrant, 35 percent of natives have no more than a high school education. And in occupations that are less than 10 percent immigrant, only 26 percent of natives have no more than a high school education.
* In high-immigrant occupations the average wages and salary for natives is one-fourth lower than in occupations that are less than 20 percent immigrant.
* Some may believe that natives in high-immigrant occupations are older and that few young natives are willing to do that kind of work. But 33 percent of natives in these occupations are age 30 or younger. In occupations that are less than 20 percent immigrant, 28 percent of natives are 30 or younger.

When Bush began his presidency, the percentage of native born”doing jobs americans won’t do” was in the high 80’s. Eight years later, the number of native born doing these jobs dropped to the figures you have posted here.

In the case of residential real estate construction, 500,000 high paying jobs(most of the jobs)were lost to illegal immigrants. Go to a home construction site; you will now see 150 illegal immigrants, and 2 bi-lingual foremen. Sickening!!

Here's the breakdown as I understand it for her and her three precious kids.
Government babysitting at $150 a week each for two kids.
$1000 play money.
Free health care for her and her three kids. Value in CA about $800 a month.
Not confirmed. but maybe a section 8 housing voucher for part of her rent.
Food stamps and each of her three gems are in public schools.
She has NOT become a tax payer.
$40,000 a year for the public education cost.
$ 9,600 in free medical insurance a year.
$12,000 in free spending money a year.
(what ever the value of food stamps are)
$ 9,600 probably a year in home voucher.
$14,400 in paid baby sitting services from the state.
This is not uncommon and I'll let someone else add all this up to give us the heart attack total...

Or, the economy will be used as the reason FOR amnesty. Looking back at statements made by amnesty supporters, they always say the economy will suffer further if illegals are deported. If they vote on healthcare without Republicans...I expect they will do the same on amnesty.
Also...”buyer beware”, so to speak, one of the biggest Tea Party backers, Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks, SUPPORTS comprehensive immigration reform and an amnesty path to citizenship...though they, like Bush/McCain/Palin claim to “oppose” amnesty. Friend today, foe tomorrow.
