Social Security office is worse. I once spent six hours waiting to complete a three minute transaction. They knocked off for lunch for about three of those hours and I am not exaggerating. But, when it was close to quitting time they suddenly were able to get everyone taken care of as fast as they should have to begin with.

You guys are missing the message here. (And I am serious when I post the explanation below.)

To liberals, the statement that BHO made does not mean what it means to us.

To us, his statement highlights the inefficiency of government enterprise: we should not allow government to take over such a critical industry, in light of the failures of other government enterprises to function efficiently or to remain solvent without massive taxpayer subsidies (e.g., Amtrak, GM, etc.).

To a liberal, his statement highlights the greed of private enterprise: UPS and FedEx are doing well because they put profit above people. What they took from his statement is that the Post Office is doing poorly because the government always tries to be fair by putting the needs of the people first, even if that means losing gobs of money.

You guys think that BHO just sank his plan. To the contrary, he just shored up support of government-run health care with the 41% that support his plan. He just stiffened the resolve of those who believe that private insurance will screw everyone to make a buck. Therefore, they will fight even harder to ensure that we “put people first” by enacting universal health care.

Things are about to get even MORE interesting....

Hey 0 you idiot. What is the difference between Fed-x, UPS and the Postal Service? The Postal Service is a quasi goobermint agency heavily unionized and run by slugs. Fed-x and UPS run for PROFIT!!!!

And you want our health care? F' off.

President Obama at his Tuesday town hall: "UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. It's the Post Office that's always having problems."

I have to presume that any Democrat from top to bottom watching/hearing that statement had to have had a collective "Oh no!" moment. In fact I am sure Obama may have realized right away himself.

Obama of course was trying to make the point that private entities that do some of the same shipping services have survived while competing with the taxpayer-funded Post Office. Truth is the private companies succeeded due to the very point Obama managed to accidentally let fly - the very incompetence of the Post Office service in general.

As far as I am concerned Obama would be hard pressed to think up a line as devastating to his and the Dems argument and at the same time as beneficial to anti-Obamacare advocates than that one.

I’ll bet Rahm and some of his other handlers are having palpitation about now.

Do you remember Rahm's off camera response to Gore's "No controlling legal authority" news conference? I am betting he is saying the same thing (which I won't repeat on a family website) right now.

How could America have voted in this maroon?

They went to the same government run education system, K-12. Most colleges are state-run. Harvard is private in name only. Its takes lots of government money and therefore follows government mandates.

The purpose of education today is not to educate but to indoctrinate in left-wing politics.

Good 'ole Cliff Clavin.

While I will say that there are unquestionably some good and able people in the Post Office it is the very nature of the "service" that disallows improvement, ie. don't rock the boat if you work there. And of course the PO has a monopoly on snail mail.

That being said I can attest to the fact that my local PO's personnel carry on the spirit of the classic Lily Tomlin telephone operator character: "We don't care. We're the phone company - we don't have to."

Nope. History will record this singular, glib utterance as his downfall. Even the ponytailed and Birkenstocked stoner faithful had their moment of extreme clarity on this one. The result:

"Therefore, the government-run healthcare system will be efficient and cost-effective."

Nope, no logical fallacies there!

So, since UPS and Fedex are private entities doing well, and the government-run USPS is not, I guess the next step will be to penalize UPS and Fedex so that the USPS can be more competitive with them? Or maybe have the government take them over?

A perfect example of why the government should not run our healthcare services.

“President Obama at his Tuesday town hall: “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.”

President Obama subliminal message number one: Private industry does it better, government run anything sucks.

But hey! This government run surgery is going to be GREAT!

I give Obama credit for one thing. He has perfected the art of lying. His method is to tell a little truth (private UPS and FedEx are run better than government US Postal Service) and then use that truth to put forth the lie that his plan is not designed to destroy private insurance. He is lying through his teeth when he makes the statement that his plan is not designed to destroy private health insurance.
