CPAC Chairman: Palin Not Ready for Presidential Run

By: Ronald Kessler
Sarah Palin needs to stop whining about unfair media coverage and get over the fact that some people dont like her, Dave Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union, tells Newsmax.
Palin doesnt seem to get that politics is a tough game, says Keene, one of the countrys most astute political observers.
The American Conservative Union, with 1 million members, runs the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington and publishes an annual "Rating of Congress," the gold standard for ideological assessments of members of Congress.
Youve got to recognize that there are people who want you to fail, Keene says. And if you spend your time worrying about them, or whining about what they say, at the very least itll get you off your game, because you ought to be worried about what youre going to do, not about what theyre going to do to you.
Resigning as governor of Alaska only compounded Palins problems, which have been accumulating since the November election, Keene says.
In the period leading up to the resignation, she needed to get over the fact that people didnt like her, Keene says. Get over the fact that she harbored resentment for the McCain people that used her. All of those things are true, but she got more out of it than they did, and she had to begin to move on with what she needed to establish in terms of her own image, to move to the next level. And she delayed doing that.
"Now it becomes more difficult because of the way in which she bailed out on the governorship.

Add to this the fact that this bum also endorsed Romney in December 2007 and you got a guy that has “part of the problem” stamped on his forehead.
DO NOT DONATE TO CPAC! “”
Bears repeating.
DO NOT DONATE TO CPAC ! ! !
The man is an idiot.
It's the tactics of the Alinsky street rabble, stupid!
I suppose Goldwater should have smiled and be understanding of this:
Nelson Rockefeller according to Stuart Spencer (Rockefeller's public relations head) told his staff, "We had to destroy Barry Goldwater as a member of the human race."
You misunderstood my post. I know Romney is not a conservative. I was saying that Romney is probably the CPAC pick. Wasn’t he the big cheese there last year?
CPAC can go to hell.
I always thought that CPAC was very highly looked at here. I am surprised that CPAC would say the things they did but are we not supporting CPACs anymore?
So what is option 2? I am open for suggestions.
I wonder what Mitt had to pay to buy this guy?
CPAC Chairman: Palin Not Ready for Presidential Run .................................. WRONG! CPAC not ready to win!!!
Geesh, my post just meant that I can smell a Romney behind this.
You of course were quite thoroughly against Palin as presidential timber before she resigned. I think you are mistaken and hope you will keep an open mind—as I believe she is the most economically conservative and politically talented candidate we might possibly get.
I do grant you and Keene two points where I am in agreement: she clearly needs national-class operatives working for her, which she hasn’t had to date, and I too think she should ignore more of the nasty slings and arrows and stop referring to them.
As to the ‘quitter’ charge, politicians resign their offices early all the time. The ethics hounding of the Democrats actually gave her a legitimate in-state reason to pass the reins over to her lt. gov ally a few months earlier than she might have otherwise. And given the damage from having Obama in office with a Democrat Congress, it is clearly to the Republican Party’s and all the country’s gain that she is now free to campaign widely for candidates in 2010. 2012, I believe, will come naturally after that.
Yes, and that's why Sarah is SO damned appealing.
But is it a reason for her to be President?
This is precisely what Governor Palin did not want to do. She did not want to cheat the citizens of Alaska by pretending to be governor while really doing something else. I admire her tremendously. I worry about her lack of experience and her inability to speak coherently at times, but the 2008 election has proven that a lack of experience is not a vote-killer. Her challenge in speaking to those who believe (rightly or wrongly) she is uneducated, can be met. Perhaps that is part of what she will be working on.
Sarah Palin represents the very best America has. She is the true feminist. She is the true Christian. She can and will (with the grace of God) triumph. I trust her. I will do whatever I can to support her.
When did she ever say she was running for President in 2012, please find me the quote
It’s not the criticism, but the beltway snarkiness and condescending attitude from these people that piss us off.
Oh, he’s aware of the facts, he’s just doing Clinton worthy spin to try to take out Palin in order to help pro-socialized-medicine Romney...
I am not, not if they are going to trash the only conservative to emerge for the top spot.
BINGO!
