Just spoke with people VERY well connected with Palin's DC operation.
Reports that she has announced to staff that she is permanently out of politics are NOT true.
Three caviats:
1: She may have told Alaska staff that she is out of politics forever. 2: She may have told Alaska staff that she is out of ALASKA politics forever. 3: Word may have not filtered down to DC yet.
That said, senior DC people very close to her think she is very far from out of politics.

Heck, I’d drive 600 miles just to see her. A rally, a speech, a parade, whatever!
Go, Sarah, go!!

Palin’s press sec was on CNN half an hour ago by phone. Did she say the same thing?

She may have told Alaska staff that she is out of politics forever. To be fair, that's a pretty big caveat. That's basically what was reported.

NBCs Chuck Todd just said on nightly news among other things that Palin will make a lot of money on the speaking circuit, and some of attendees will just be car wreck watchers. This from their political analyst.Spell check, spell check. He's from NBC, so that would be "analist."

She comes within 200 miles of me I will drive over to hear her speak and donate cash to her campaign. God bless her , hope she wins !Hell, I'll donate if she doesn't even come to Utah. She wouldn't need to... she'd pull 90+% here anyway.

"Whatever her reasons, I dont think suddenly resigning halfway through your first term as Governor is the best way to set yourself up to run for the Presidency in 3 years."So if she had become VP that would not have been a good reason to leave her first term as Governor?

Don’t buy into any of the msm propaganda.
They will attempt to write the narrative out of their own wishful thinking.
Let the facts emerge. Alot of people will be talking about Sarah Palin over burgers, dogs and applie pie this weekend. Alot of TEA Party people will be doing the same.
This could end up being a brilliant first step onto the campaign trail by Palin. Let’s don’t jump to negative conclusions....if there was something bad out there, the media would have already have released it.

I just don’t know how to read this resignation. Somehow it seems out of character for her to resign before her term is up unless she really is done. I so hope I am wrong about this speculation.
To: Pride in the USA
Sarah needed to resign to prepare for the Presidential campaign in 2012. It’s as simple as that.
Now she can attack, attack, and attack rather than always being on the defense.

In whatever fifth-world country she's talking to her hand, Hillary must be gnashing her teeth with the news that Sarah will be the star between now and the next presidential election.
During the next Dem presidential convention and primary, Obama will have Hillary cutting ribbons in Bangladesh or Mauritania or Outer Slobovia.
Her Highness must be kicking herself for accepting the ceremonial office of Secretary of State. I say "ceremonial" because Obama and some of his shadowy appointed czars are really running her show.

In which case this decision was a very poor one. If she's getting out all together, and I wouldn't blame her if she did, then this is understandable. If this is some strategy to build a base and reemerge onto the national scene then she's lost enormous credibility to my mind. Nobody likes a quitter, and nobody likes a schemer. She made a commitment to the people of Alaska; it's one thing to retire, it's another to dump your current obligations for ambition.
