Bio-Darwinist Beats Up On Psycho-Darwinists

June 26, 2009 — Evolution of rape?  No way.  Sharon Begley won’t let the evolutionary psychologists get away with their tales about how rapists, molesters, and cheaters can’t help themselves because evolution made them that way.  The Science Magazine blog Origins seems to be cheering her on.

Science writer Sharon Begley, who in 2007 returned to her old job at Newsweek after 5 years of writing the “Science Journal” column for The Wall Street Journal, has long reported skeptically about anything smacking of biological determinism.  In the 29 June issue of Newsweek, she pens a 4300-word critique of evolutionary psychology, the theory that modern human behavior—including everything from mate choice to child abuse to warfare—is the result of evolutionary adaptations that took place 100,000 or more years ago.  Her piece, titled “Why Do We Rape, Kill and Sleep Around?” concludes, as the subtitle puts it, “The fault, dear Darwin, lies not in our ancestors, but in ourselves.

“So if someone simply chooses to believe what Scripture says without trying to use science to prove it, then that is not weak faith?”

Not in my book.

“You sound as if you actually believe that. To the point that anyone that doesn’t, is a creationist.”

It’s true. “Creation Science” is not peer reviewed by actual people who know the subject of research.

“And if anyone’s making stuff up to support their iedology, that too would be the cult of evolution. Any and all examinations of evolution are met with “that’s not science”, or “that’s religious attacks on science”.”

Jeez....you don’t know what you are talking about. Evolution can be challenged on scientific fronts, it’s just that it has held up pretty well over time. If you want to attack it, do it with actual science, not fraudulent “creation science”.

“Wow...”self-selecting statistical pool”? You really didn’t think godless liberal NEA types would run down to the NY Times and demand stories be printed about normal folks tired of this incessant secular God-hate indoctrination in our schools are more successful homeschooling”

Do you even understand statistics? If you compare the homeschooling demographic with the identical demographic in public schools, the differences are minimal. If you then mix the public school group and then average in dysfunctional urban schools you see a big difference.

The biggest correlations are parental involvement, two-parent family, and IQ. So do you really think little johnny gets a dozen IQ points by staying home? Of course you do, but you’re wrong. Just like all “creation science” is wrong.

“Anything and everything but a moral Judeo-Christian approach to education huh?” Did I say that, Mr. Taliban man?

“And frankly, speaking of making stuff up, this hasn’t stopped the liberals from lying about science suffering in this country because of creationism, knowiing full well ID/creation has been excluded to the point of lawsuits if necessary.”

If you are going to sacrifice actual science education because you feel it conflicts with the Bible, therefore should not be taught, you’re wrong.

If you want to teach creationism as a religious view, then fine with me.

If you want to teach “creation science” you want your kids to be stupid.

As I suspected, you just wanted to say “Science is bad”

No, I didn't say anything of the sort...

Here is exactly what I said: "...a lot of the so-called Darwinists want to run away from.”

Thank you for exposing your biased deception.

“Thank you for exposing your biased deception.”

This is what is known as “creation science”, my friend. If you really believe that stuff, you are in need of help. Please get it, and face reality.

“You’re helpless.”

You didn’t think that was funny? Another symptom of “creation science” psychosis - no sense of humor.

Sharon Begeley and/or Newsweek are not science. Put any new pseudo-science fad up and Sharon will be on it. All this really tells is what the swells in NYC are talking about.

I am an atheist you a-hole.

Back to my earlier comment...

A lot of so-called Darwinists run away from the scientific fact that evolution (in mammals) can only occur with HETEROSEXUAL relationships.

A statement of scientific fact that particularly disturbs you.

Unless you can address that topic, don't bother responding to me further...

The only “self selecting” going on in this “statistical pool” is being done by parents who actually care about their children getting a good education and a good founding in character principles based on the Truth as revealed by God.

I guess parents who care about their children, in today’s world, are “weird”.

“I am an atheist you a-hole. “

Which makes you an expert in what? The obvious scientific fact that “evolution occurs only with heterosexual relationships”? I thought you were actually making a “creation science” point, when perhaps you had none at all (which lead to my confusion).

Otherwise, your assertion that “some darwinists run away from....” is without context please provide....

Do you know what "self selected" means? It doesn't mean weird, and it's not a criticism. In fact, your description of the parents neatly sums up why their kids are "self selected" in any kind of survey of education.

Yes, I do indeed know what “self selecting set” means.
Don’t go all “I’m an atheist so I’m smarter than everyone else” on us.

Yup, and those that have been hopelessly indoctrinated and socialized by the godless liberal NEA can't appreciate a bit if this.

Yes, I do indeed know what “self selecting set” means.

Then I really don't understand your previous comment. It seems to me like you're saying "the only 'self selecting' going on in this 'statistical pool' is being done by people who are self selecting." Perhaps you can clarify?

Don’t go all “I’m an atheist so I’m smarter than everyone else” on us.

Don't go all "I know what your religious beliefs are even though you haven't said anything about them" on me.

"Evolution can be challenged on scientific fronts, it’s just that it has held up pretty well over time."

It would be impossible to construct a more false statement.

There is no part of evolution left standing. Each and every element of it has been demolished by the physical evidence. Not one shred of evidence exists to link existing species together, and the number of existing species continues to dwindle, from a maximum at the beginning.

Evolution is the ultimate "face-palm" generator.

Which makes you an expert in what?

I didn't exactly see your resume either and I really don't care...

The point is, as a matter of scientific fact that mammals only evolve through HETEROSEXUAL relationships.

Now professor, please elaborate with your academic qualifications to dispute that stated fact you are so noticeably uncomfortable with...
