Atheism, for Good Reason, Fears Questions
--snip--
That theists and open-minded agnostics and atheists on the pro-Darwinist side of this debate are finally engaging the same fundamentalist atheist dogma that intelligent design proponents have engaged for several decades is a good sign. Fundamentalist atheists are of course fighting back ferociously, because they understand, as perhaps the accomodationists dont, the profound implications of an understanding of the natural world that is not causally closed.
Teleology is obvious in nature. Atheists and materialists intrinsically deny the reality of teleology-- Aristotelian final causation-- in nature, yet nothing in the natural world can be understood without reference to teleology. Science is saturated with reference to purpose and goals of natural things. Atheists deny teleology, because acceptance of teleology in nature raises devastating questions about their atheist faith.
Fundamentalist atheists-- secular priests-- fight ferociously to extinguish challenges to their faith, because they understand that to raise the question of teleology in nature is to answer it. Atheism, for good reason, fears questions.

Gee, I wonder which camp Allmendream and Buck W. side with in this growing religious war between the Temple of Darwin atheists and their (former?) theistic brethren?

As I’ve long said: Atheists are always on the attack because they have no defenses.
OK, I’m prepared to be entertained. So you find an article about a schism among “Temple of Darwin” adherents in one of your creation rationalization rags. Why on earth would I be moved to comment in any way other than to question the veracity and motives of the highly qualified authors and to criticize the mission of the source? The sad thing is that you and your cult bretheren actually take this and other similar crackpot sources seriously.
Are you such a sloven lapdog that you can’t even side with the Evo-theists over the Evo-atheists? Why am I not surprised!
I commend the author for making the distinction between run of the mill atheists and activist atheists. I was a nonbeliever for most of my adult life, and never once fit the atheist stereotype.
Does that mean you have finally crossed over from the dark side into God’s wonderful light? :o)
Not to mention the fact that the militant atheists are all about force because they know their “argument” cannot stand on its own two feet.
The money quote from this article is where the author acknowledges, “We are in a state of primitive stupidity.”
Are you such a brainwashed, faith-deprived cultist that you can’t ascertain my position from my original post? There is no such choice because there is no such schism. Your creation rationalization rag is toying with you. They obviously need to increase their circulation, and they doing so by publishing an article that they know will give you a raging YEC hard on.
This, of course, ignores the simple fact that most evolutionist are not Atheists. You know this. Why do you need to keep trying this tired and silly tactic? It makes you look silly
So, let's rephrase your question:
Evolutionists are always on the attack because they have no defenses.
You also know that this is not true. You know that it is far from true. You know that most evolutionists don't give a damn about what you creationists are up to. Sometimes, however, you are like those little yapping puppies that run around trying to bite peoples ankles. Sometimes people get tired of the ankle bitters and give them a little kick.
One little kick back after hours of ankle biting makes you yell, "attack." That little kick is then turned into "always on the attack."
Pitiful.
That’s rich, a Temple of Darwin cultist who claims to be a Christian, calling an actual Christian a cultist for believing in God’s creation account in Genesis.
PS A simple yes would have sufficed...LOL!
I think any “war” between the views is entirely in the heads of those fighting it.
Tell me, self-professed but unverified Christian, are Catholics and Episcopalians Christians?
You’re awfully giddy. Have you been drinking, or is it just the euphoria caused by your raging YEC hard on?
fundamentalist atheistRabbi David Wolpe's fire and brimstone atheism seems synonymous with that denomination.
Atheism that seeks truth invites dialogue; fire and brimstone atheism does not.
