Glenn Greenwald passes along a clip of Richard Wolffe discussing his new Barack Obama biography, “Renegade,” on G. Gordon Liddy’s talk show, in an interview that rather quickly dovetails into Liddy’s conspiracy theories about Obama’s citizenship.
LIDDY: You mentioned distractions. One of these distractions right now is these lawsuits that take the position that he is not constitutionally eligible to be president of the United States because he is not a naturally-born citizen. Now, he could clear that up in an instant by producing a genuine birth certificate. And yet he refuses to do it. He says he has one but he won’t do it. What is behind that? Hubris or what? WOLFFE: Well, I’m going to differ with you on this one. This came up during the campaign. A copy of the birth certificate is out there. Anyone can see it. He was born in Hawaii. There are documents from the state of Hawaii that prove it. I don’t know what else you really expect me to do.
LIDDY: Well, here’s the thing. The document you speak of is a “certificate of live birth,” which is not a birth certificate. You can’t get a passport with that, you can’t even register your kids…
WOLFFE: Yes you can. That’s what I do. That’s what everyone does. The certificate of live birth is exactly what you get a passport with.
LIDDY: No, it’s a birth certificate.
WOLFFE: That’s — the copy of the birth certificate, everyone has copies of birth certificates. They use them all the time. Nobody hands out the one original document.
LIDDY: No, I wouldn’t expect them to.
WOLFFE: When you go to the DMV you take a copy with you. You don’t take the real… and it’s an official copy, it has to be embossed and stamped, it’s not just like a xerox. But that’s what it is, and it’s widely accepted.
LIDDY: Why is it redacted? Why is it redacted?
WOLFFE: I haven’t seen any redactions.
LIDDY: The one that’s on the internet, that’s the one that I’ve seen, and that one has the serial number redacted.
WOLFFE: I have no idea. I’ve seen one with serial numbers on it and everything. So I don’t know what the problem is here. Do you have an idea of where he was born if it wasn’t in Hawaii?
LIDDY: Yeah, there’s an affidavit from his grandmother that says that she observed the birth in Mombassa, Kenya.
WOLFFE: Yeah. You know, I just think that that is completely false.
In 1993, to obtain a passport, I was inconveniently far from home to ask Mom for that copy, so wrote to the state giving my particulars and got a short form “BC” that says somebody saw what was filed and copied down some necessary information, and is signed and sealed by whoever was in the office that day. It was good enough for the passport office.
I don't know whether that state did like Hawaii and issued short form BCs for people born elsewhere. If I was trying to prove my natural-borndedness :) and somebody thought I was actually born in Prague, I think I would WANT people to see the long form BC and would go to great lengths to obtain a fresh, new copy whose seal hasn't been worn flat from being in a box of Precious Memories for 45 years.
The idea of hiring lawyers to conceal it would not even enter my mind.
How bout we set up a website. $1,000,000 for Obamster’s real birth certificate or proof that he’s not a natural born citizen?
How about Maya Kasandra Soetoro, the Usurper’s sister: born in Indonesia, has Hawaiin COLB.
Obama still has not provided any definite proof that he was born in United States of America. When he provides a "for real" birth certificate that shows all of the pertinent and necessary information that he was born a citizen of these United States of America, then all of the questions will be answered --- won't they? So what's stopping him?

From what I have read, I am not convinced that the birth certificate provided proves that Obama is a natural-born citizen.
It should be easy to prove, and my question is why is he spending millions on lawyers so that he doesn’t produce the appropriate records?
Most leaders and courts seem afraid to really require an answer.

And I agree that the worse things get in our country the more likely it will be that this surfaces.

Gov Lingle supposedly claims she has never seen Obama’s birth certificate.

Off air, Humphries said that he asked Lingle if she had actually seen Obama’s birth certificate.
She said No.

there’s nothing anyone can do about it now.
Interesting that Lingle acknowledges that there is a birth certificate and that it will remain for Obama’s eyes only.”
That being the case, if true, then she is less than useless as a GOP governor. OTOH, she just might be deliberately sitting out of this one to avoid heat, as most pols would.
But the main focus is, why, and how, could ANY Republican law maker sit by or be satisfied that Obama might not have been born in the US? We put them in office to work, and if they don't work, get rid of them, all of them.
I could imagine none of our Founding Fathers would sit idly by given the same situation. They would demand that Congress tells Obama to shlt or get off the pot.
No. You don’t understand the issue. Natural born citizen has long precedent in English common law. It meant, literally, one born in the country of parents who are citizens of the country.
His mother was too young to have conferred US Citizenship upon his birth, based on the law at the time, as I understand it. In addition, his father is purported to be Kenyan, which was a British protectorate at the time. Thus, BHO is Kenyan by birth, and a British citizen due to the status of Kenya at the time.
In addition, his mother divorced 0bama (sr) and hooked up with a fella by the name of Soetoro, who apparently adopted young Barry, conferring upon him Indonesian citizenship, which was reflected in the school enrollment documentation that has been posted hither and yon. At that point, young Barry was listed as a citizen of Indonesia, and a Muslim.
Of course, BHO could put all this to immediate rest just by releasing a certified copy of his vault BC from HI, if such a thing does exist. Alternatively, he could release the passport details surrounding his trip to Pakistan in the 1980’s. At that time, a US passport would not be accepted into Pakistan...
Far too many questions about this ‘man with no past’, IMO, to allow it to simply die on the vine. This is a critical Constitutional issue and deserves a full and complete hearing. Sadly, the judiciary has engaged in major stonewalling so far, and nothing has moved very far along the legal path.
It’s time to take back the country.
