We will be putting together the details of the week’s events soon. For now, this is our tentative agenda for 9-10 through 9-12.
Thursday, 9-10:
Morning: Liberty Summit with select Congressmen and Senators
Afternoon: Grassroots visits with Representatives and Senators
Evening: Time to explore Washington
Friday, 9-11:
Morning: September 11th Never Forget memorial
Afternoon: Grassroots leadership training seminars
Evening: Special Dinner
Saturday, 9-12:
8:00am Set up for stages and volunteers
10:00am Events begin at U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial
2:00pm March begins at Lincoln Memorial and ends at the U.S. Capitol Building
A few days ago it was announced the Florida Chapter of Free Republic would be gathering together in D.C. to attend the National Tea Party. Due to overwhelming interest all across the country, the event has now gone national

This event is open only to Registered Freepers, their families and friends.
I’ll be coordinating this event with the MOST appreciated help from seekthetruth. For now I (Brytani) am collecting names of those who are committed to going to D.C. with us. Once we have a realistic idea of how many Freepers are aboard, I will be contacting Hotels in D.C. to find a group or convention rate.
We already have a few wonderful Hotels on our list and don’t want to wait until they are filled up. The plan is simple and will take only a FreepMail but time is of the essence!!! Hotels in D.C. are filling up fast!!!
Please send Brytani a FreepMail if you are going to D.C. or if you’re strongly considering attending. For now I need your FreeperID, the number of room you will need the how many people will be in your party. If you have any questions please ask them on this thread or if you’d prefer you can FreepMail me.
During the first week of June I will announce the Hotel, room rate, address, perks etc and when and how your reservation will need to be made.
For those who are considering joining us but have not completely committed, please FreepMail as well. This will give me a better idea of how many room to inquire on.
If you are already attending please consider staying with Freepers from around the nation. You’ll have the opportunity to meet people you’ve been talking to for years and make new FRriends.

With all due respect, why not join forces and go to DC on the 4th of JULY? We may not have anything left to save two months later. Put a million people in DC on the FOURTH OF JULY and they will not be able to ignore you, guaranteed.
There are going to be hundreds of Tea Party Rallies all around the country on July 4th.
All politics starts at a local level just like the hundreds of tea parties on tax day, April 15.
Many people at the July 4th rallies will be telling people about the rally in DC in Sept, and also about the Tea Party Express that is traveling from California to DC starting in late August.

There are permits in place for July 4th and I don’t believe there is a limit on the number of people who can go...I am not saying what you are doing is not wonderful...but considering the speed at which Obama is moving, 9-10 more weeks is an eternity...and no offense, but why Balkanize instead of encouraging a MILLION people to show up in DC? It’s a holiday for Patriots! They ignored all of the small gatherings before...and isn’t there a better chance of turning out BIG numbers on a long holiday weekend? And shhheeeesh, look what these fools in the WH have done in the last 9-10 weeks, do you really want to wait? Why?
Many people don't appear to understand the huge effort that organizing committees have to put out for rallys, marches and events in DC, the hub for tourism and demonstrations and everything else in a city that draws a never-ending multitude of people in and out.
I won't even detail it all. It's enough to scramble the brain.
Freepers who were involved in past DC events know what I'm talking about.
This FR convention is being carefully planned as we type. Everyone will enjoy it to the max......and our rally, along with countless other organizations and individuals across the nation who are joining us will be a fast number two in a one-two blow to Obama and the psychotic congressmen and senators who occupy the Hill.

From your tagline, it seems you are quite involved with a large march on July 4th.

But July 4th is not just a holiday for Patriots, but also for congress. They will not be in DC, they will be in their home districts taking a much deserved (yes quite sarcastic) week or so off.
On Sept 12, they will be in session, and it will be harder for them to ignore the 500 [Balkanized number](or maybe even a million!) Patriots inundating their turf.

Actually, no not the July 4th holiday.
Traditonally there are thousands of local events on Independance Day across the country.
It's still my contention that it would be very productive for every Patriot to attend one of the local events and promote the Sept 12th event while in their home areas.

Yes, Congress, Soros, Ayres, ANSWER, ACORN, leftists, democrats are bringing our country to third world status at an alarming rate.
So if a massive number of people have a Tea Party Rally in a DC that is intact or in ruins like in Fallout 3 it WILL be effective IMO.

Hope that the damage done in the 9-10 extra weeks is not insurmountable...this is a fast moving storm, not a gentle rain...

I think the purpose of any rally/protest is to let others in this great country that there are hundreds of thousands of Patriots that feel the same way they do.
I guess that could be called the PR aspect.

I’m already booked for BOTH events...I’ve looked back at my posts and see nothing that “diminishes” anything and I continue to be baffled by the combativeness...by splitting up the demonstrations, in my opinion, it weakens the impact, as well as adding precious response time, which, in my opinion, weakens the argument that the need for massive dissent is urgent...I still have no idea why the tone, still included in this post, but I wish you luck...I wish us ALL luck...
And the plans ARE being carefully planned! That sure does take time and lots of back and forth communications with the hotel concerning best group rate, banquet facilities, and the list goes on and on with details to be confirmed!
We are hoping this coming week we will have more to report on the things planned for the National Tea Party FReeper Convention!
We went to a TEA party on Memorial Day weekend and had 1/5th the attendees of the one on April 15. Not because people aren’t still up in arms about the POSOTUS, but because Memorial Day weekend is a traditional time for family get-togethers and local activities such as parades and picnics honoring our veterans, and to kick off the summer season.
Hubby and I are going to the September 12 FR TEA party, but we will not be attending the July 4 assembly because this holiday is also a time for family and local activities. People staying home for those reasons will impact the attendance no matter who sponsors the party on that day.
Not everyone can afford to go to both, especially from across the country. </obviousman >

Sure, it’s understandable, we all have our own priorities...I worry more about what they will do in the intervening 9 weeks...hopefully we won’t be so far underwater in the future we can afford family activities...

You mentioned you are going to DC for July 4th and also said you are booked for BOTH events. Did you mean you are also booked for the National Free Republic Tea Party Convention on 9/12? I am asking because you are not on our list for joining us at the hotel or for our National Freeper Convention/banquet.
Please make sure you Freepmail Brytani to let her know if you need a room, how many in your party, and how many in your party will attend the Convention banquet. We need those numbers in confirming details with the hotel. Thanks!
