Pelosi: Bush briefers lied to me
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Bush administration told her explicitly they weren't using waterboarding on terror detainees during a Sept. 2002 briefing on interrogation tactics -- months after they had begun waterboarding Abu Zabaydah.
Pelosi also called on CIA director Leon Panetta to release full details on her briefing -- and shook her head in the affirmative when asked if the administration had actually "lied" to her.
"The only mention of waterboarding in the briefing was that it was not being employed," she told reporters, reading from a prepared statement -- twice for emphasis.
The intelligence briefers gave Pelosi, she said, "inaccurate and incomplete information."
"Perhaps they should release the briefing-- I would be very happy if they released the briefing," Pelosi added.
The career management, even the loyal-to-the-core DemonRats, have got to get sick of the constant public accusations of lying, cheating, and incompetence on literally a daily basis and seeing their senior management do nothing. They must all take a prozac the size of a softball every morning to deal with it.
Looks like Bill & Hill are behind this fiasco.
I was reading my status feed on facebook just a while ago, and I noticed notes from several friends who are hard-core Democrats and Obama supporters slamming Pelosi and saying that she should step down.
You know that it’s bad when even liberal Democrats want Pelosi gone.

A really odd statement.
It brings to mind a theater commander mentioning to a tactical commander that “We’re holding the new super weapon in reserve.”, without explanation of the nature and capabilities of the new super weapon to the tactical officer.
Just odd.

2. The Bush admin played word games with me
3. I never thought they would do it
4. I was lied to
5. I claim ignorance
6. I wasn't in the room when that was said. I had to make a head call. I drank a lot of iced tea that day.
7. I couldn't hear them, the sun was in my eyes.
As far as I know (and I’m not a total political news junkie), Botox Nan is the only person claiming the CIA lied to them. If they lied to Pelosi, they must have lied to others about this as well. So far, I don’t see other members of Congress crying “they lied to me too!”
I think the rest of Congress, including her own party, despise her. For them, this is a convenient way for her to go down and they don’t have to get their hands dirty.

Clinton lacky Leon Panetta is the current head of the CIA... Do you think he’s going to release something damaging to Pelosi? Granted, they’ll probably get some political concessions from her in exchange but mark my words, there is no way the full brief ever sees the light of day... unless it truly does exonerate her. LOL. Sorry I just made a little joke there.
All evidence that the brief doesn’t exonerate Pelosi and that the White House is looking for political concessions before it’s deemed “too sensitive” to release.
Her press conference was humiliating. I thought at any given moment she was going to start slapping her self in the head, curl into a fetal position, wet herself and suck her thumb.
if Pelosi says that they lied well she would know .. everything she says is a lie so she can spot them for sure!
On Sept. 4, 2002, less than a year after 9/11, the CIA briefed Rep. Porter Goss, then House Intelligence Committee chairman, and Mrs. Pelosi, then the committee’s ranking Democrat, on EITs including water boarding. They were the first members of Congress to be informed.
So, who was the director of the CIA, from 9/11 to 2004?
George J. Tenet was the Director of CIA, from 1997–2004 .
Tenet was appointed by President Clinton and approved by Congress. Tenet then became the CIA director in August of 1997.
So, Pelosi is now saying that George Tenet lied to her or ordered his congressional briefers to lie to Nancy.
