Pelosi: Bush briefers lied to me
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Bush administration told her explicitly they weren't using waterboarding on terror detainees during a Sept. 2002 briefing on interrogation tactics -- months after they had begun waterboarding Abu Zabaydah.
Pelosi also called on CIA director Leon Panetta to release full details on her briefing -- and shook her head in the affirmative when asked if the administration had actually "lied" to her.
"The only mention of waterboarding in the briefing was that it was not being employed," she told reporters, reading from a prepared statement -- twice for emphasis.
The intelligence briefers gave Pelosi, she said, "inaccurate and incomplete information."
"Perhaps they should release the briefing-- I would be very happy if they released the briefing," Pelosi added.

Dear Conservative Media Friend:
A political witchhunt is underway. A dedicated public servant is under attack. For doing his job, in the service of his country, Judge Jay S. Bybee, 9th Circuit Court Judge, is being attacked by partisans who would like to re-write history.
When the Obama Administration decided recently to release memos written by lawyers In the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) under President George W. Bush in the wake of the 9-1-1 attack on the United States, he determined that unbridled political retribution trumps national security.
Since when did we criminalize the advice an attorney gave his/her presidential boss, or the opinions of political adversaries? This is unprecedented in American history, and could have a chilling effect on our legal system if allowed to continue.
We are a group of concerned citizens who know Judge Bybee, and are standing up to say, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We have created a website where you can find the truth about the decisions by President Bushs Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) regarding the lawful limits of intense interrogations of combatants in the war on terror.
Here is the website address:
JudgeJayBybeeNews.org
If you sign up as a friend on the site, well send you weekly updates.
On this site you will find facts about the interrogation memos and events leading up to those memos, as well as results of the interrogations. Youll also find quotes from politicians who supported the techniques then, but are conveniently rewriting history to justify their opposite opinions today
People like Obamas current Attorney General, Eric H. Holder, who said in 2002 of the status of enemy combatants captured post-9-1-1, “It seems to me that given the way in which they have conducted themselves, however, that they are not, in fact, people entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention. They are not prisoners of war.” That was then.
Or Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, a ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee and one of four members of Congress who received regular briefings on security issues. She endorsed the harsh interrogation techniques, never expressing any reservations. Yet she says she cant remember what happened then, now.
Is this amnesia, or political expedience? That is the question asked by Porter Goss, former CIA director and a chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 1997-2004. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/24/AR2009042403339_pf.html
Please check out our site, which has links to many articles that challenge the version of facts being peddled in Washington today by moveon.org and other partisans.
Feel free to call me if I can help you in any way to gain further information or details for your coverage of this important issue!

“Something about Pelosi reminds me of Paula on American Idol, the way she speaks, very odd.”
It’s called “Valium Mouth” and is pretty common in prescription drug abuse...
So what happens when the CIA calls her bluff and dumps the minutes of the briefing in the WAPOs lap?
Briefing....deBriefing??
it is like the same thing.
and nobody wants to ‘brief’ Nan.
(1) Pelosi assumed the mainstream media would spin her statements to her advantage, just like they always have in the past. But strangely enough the MSM is providing both sides of the story.
(2) Normally the CIA would cover for a Democrat leader. Was the CIA burned badly enough by the Democrats that they now feel no allegiance?
(3) Most of us would have expected Obama to run to Pelosi's side and provide support, but Pelosi is out on her limb alone.
Pelosi's daily revisions to her story seem to show a woman waiting for her normal supporting cast to rescue her. Is this an elderly woman who has been cast adrift on a ice floe to die?
Bring in Jack Bauer.
If this is Pelosi vs. Panetta, my money is on Leon.
He is a former Congress Critter himself and a well-studied protege of Der Slickmeister.
Yes Pelosi knew...and well I guess the Kos people may decide she colluded in it or covered it up.
And, what number excuse is this one????? She’s a real piece of sh!t.
She IS what lefties WANT Sarah Palin to be. But Sarah is NOT dumb, she CAN handle the job, and the lefties know it.
Bring in Jack Bauer.
Drunk or sober...preferably drunk...”send my other generals a case of whatever he’s drinking...”
The funny thing is, before this is all over, Panetta and Pelosi will be calling for the other to be waterboarded in order to get to the truth.
One more head butt aughta do it.
Exactly! She toldObama’s Chief of Staff to stay out of the house’s business.
Now put a picture of nazi pelosi’s snout with a montauk monster snot next to it. I think we found a montauks relative.
