Received yet another complaint from a prior donor:

"The thread about who is a troll tells lots. FR is not welcoming to newbies. But the younger generation of potential conservatives has to be heard. Conservatism is changing, and we need openness, even when it challenges.

My son as well as me was a previous supporter of FR, but he quit; “these guys are extremists, and they can not win elections via labeling. In 10 years the whole debate about stem cells will be as ridiculous as the “debate” about baby carriages.”

In 10 years most of us 1999 Freepers will be dead. If I posted this, I would be banned as a troll. So I am inactive and leave FR with regretss for what FR has become.

Well, I just don't know what to tell you. FR will remain a pro Life and Liberty conservative site. It's true that government schools have brainwashed the last couple of generations of our youth into believing that abortion, homosexual marriage, universal health care, global warming, open borders, big government, big spending, high taxes, etc, are perfectly normal and healthy for our citizens and our "democratic" society, but I just cannot bring myself to go along with all that liberal mumbo jumbo.

One more time: FR is pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-constitution, pro-traditional values, pro-small government, pro-defense and pro-America.

We oppose RINOism, liberalism, feminism, homosexualism, socialism, Marxism, globalism, fascism, communism, pacifism, government enforced atheism, anarchism or any other form of tyranny.

We fight for LIFE and Liberty and our religious freedoms as well as all of our other God-given unalienable rights. What God has given, no man, no government can rightfully take away. Our individual rights are not negotiable! Thank you very much!

Sorry, but I'm simply not interested in running a website dedicated to electing RINOs or turning the GOP into democrat-lite. If that means our fundraisers take longer or our donations dry up, then we'll find some other way to fund our operations. But we traditional conservatives (extremists to you) will continue fighting the good fight!

I will agree with you on one thing though. Those who feel FR should be more tolerable to the liberal point of view or that conservatism is changing and we should adapt to be electable are probably on the wrong website. Conservatism does not change, weak-kneed RINOS do.

and, I don’t always track humor vs satire vs serious as well as I’d prefer.

I think in your post’s case, I ended up thinking you were probably a bona fide conservative but still thought your chiding JimRob about this being in Breaking News was . . .

Typical Darwinian: He groups all stem cell research in with embryonic stem cell research. Conservatives are all for stem cell research as long as NO embryos or eggs are involved.

Conservatism is changing...

No, some "conservatives" are changing. Conservatism is based upon principles that don't change. When one feels that respect for individual liberty is no longer important and must change to win elections, then one is no longer a conservative. When one feels that respect for human life is no longer important and must change to win elections, then one is no longer a conservative.

The American people don't want rubber conservatism. How can I make this assertion? Because RINOs have been losing elections year after year in state after state. The people reject them. Take California as an example. This supposedly liberal state keeps electing Democrats no matter how liberal the Republican challenger is. However, that same electorate, which we are told must be attracted by making conservatism less conservative, passed Prop. 8 last year; the same year the state went for Barack Obama over John McCain. They passed a similar ban on gay marriage 8 yeears earlier. They voted to keep illegal aliens from receiving public benefits. Whenever a RINO isn't there, getting in the way, they vote for conservative principles. What might happen if they had a real conservative candidate to vote for; one for whom "change" is a dirty word?

I only object to the Third Party hacks who have swarmed the site to promote their crappy, little spoiler groups and who spend all day posting threads accusing every member of the Republican party (except Reagan) of being a RINO.

They offer no candidates or candidate positions and it gets real old.

The only way Democrats can win is to successfully split or demoralize conservative Republicans. This also seems to be the aim of the Third Party cretins at FR.

Of the things you listed that Conservatives believe/don’t believe in, they are all constitution-bases EXCEPT the anti-abortion and anti-homosexual pieces, which are religion-based.

First, anti-homosexual "pieces" are designed to inflame.
As a conservative I can only speak for myself, but I am not anti-homosexual. I am however vehemently opposed to the teeny tiny rabid homosexual lobby cramming their lifestyle down the collective throats of 98% of the population, including indoctrinating young children. I am also opposed to special protected classes of people regardless of race, creed, religion or sexual orientation. And THAT is Constitutional!

Robbing banks, marriage and divorce, murdering innocent people, stealing cars, and a myriad of other offenses are not contitution-based either yet we have TONS of laws governing those actions.

How can you not? John Adams said it best:

It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Only those with NO moral compass could ask such a lame question. The simple reply would be to turn the question around:
How can some of you be pro-murder/death of an innocent unborn baby, but pro-life for a convicted killer?
The answer lies in the quilt or innocence of the person in question.

The Preamble to the Constitution gives another clue to the answer:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more prefect Union, establish Justice, Insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Then again in Amendment 14 Section 1:
Nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law

Nice. I would say that 3% is a very deflated figure though.

If McCain could get 45% plus, there are more people out there who see the light than you might think. They objected to Obama resoundingly.

Those who refused to vote for McCain might reach 3%, truth be told.

Our numbers are much stronger than most people would believe. The problem is, those who wish to rebrand our party and lead it off in the wrong direction, have their hands on the power of our party.

When that is put to an end, and Conservative values are once again championed for real, stand back, there’s going to be a massive groundswell.
