After a lifetime of public service and a painful illness, Jack Kemp has died.

I'm having trouble finding other reports as well. Wonder why NRO (Lopez) has such a head start on this story. I seriously doubt she would post that if she wasn't sure.
I really like him...I didn't know he had cancer. RIP

The announcement that Kemp is facing a fight with an as-yet undescribed cancer means only that cancer is in for a hell of a fight. The Kemp family has understandably and appropriately asked for its privacy to be respected.

Let me guess: CANCER? Yeah, it was. He had been diagnosed with multiple cancers back in January. I don't know if it was ever determined where it actually started, but it had already spread to several places in the body by the time it was discovered.
RIP, Mr. Kemp - you were one of the good ones.

It was announced he had cancer a short time ago, no other details followed except a request for privacy. It did not sound good at the time.
Prayers for the Kemp family.

I was fortunate to have the priviledge of meeting him in 1994 at an Empower America event in Detroit. I saved the campaign education folder that he signed for me, it's still sitting on my shelf less than 5 feet from me.
A good man has died, and our nation is worse off for it.
Rest in peace, Mr. Kemp.
