Yeah, I know. Said some similar things about Bush in 2000. But at least he was pro-life, pro-family, etc, and thank God we supported him over the idiot All Green Gore.
Said similar things about McCain in 2008. But when asked the question "when does human life begin?," and he unabashedly stated, "At conception, of course," I had to take notice. Then when he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I decided to support her. I voted for Sarah (and the white haired old geezer that came along with the package).
But Romney is a NO go. And I don't care who this socialist, abortionist, homosexualist, constitution trampling bastard picks for running mate. If Romney's in I'm out!
G.O.P., R.I.P!
I am really sick and tired of you Romney haters. No one said the man is perfect. Which Republican is?
You Romney haters live on fantasies of the “perfectness” of past Republicans, which are mostly in your own minds.
Even Reagan has screw ups early in his career.
Wake up.
Romney, for his few faults, is speaking conservatism!!
Low Taxes. Strong defense. Private solutions. Respect for Christians. Moral values he lives in his own life.... five sons. ONe wife.
And yet all you Romney haters are obsessed with a few snippets of video from 1994 during a few gotcha questions from some lib reporter.
What politician has not said or done something stupid in their political career.
Be sure to visit SarahPAC today!
More delusion from people like you who wake up and breath simply to hate someone.... someone in the GOP for heavens sake.
Romney had the SECOND highest number of votes in the 2008 Republican primary, and the second highest delegates, and he dropped out three months before Hucklebee.
Those who so viciously hated and destroyed Romney in 2008 gave us McCain, who has completely obliterated the conservative movement for years to come.
Romney, for his past faults, at least has the balls to speak conservatism and has the guts to go after Obama.
Strong military, tough on jihadist Muslim nutjobs, private solutions, non-punitive tax code, low taxes, pro Christian solutions. Romney speaks to these and other conservative solutions.
I too said and did dumb things in my early career. Give the man a freakin' break.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
- - - - - - - - - -
This one right there should give anyone pause about voting for Romney.
Especially since their prophet speaks for God.
________________________________________________
Especially sinnce every state senator and state rep in Utah have to check in with the mormon “prophet”
and he has influence over every bill...
The president/prophet/high lobbyist of the mormons
Romney did not practice 'low taxes'. He raised fees
even in NH!!!!!!, and imposed socialized medicine and gay marriage.
How conservative is that?
but the man supports abortion - - how do you reconcile that with your beliefs?
Ooooh. Real mature, my friend.
Us 'mitwits' are out in the real world. I helped organize a very successful veeeery conservative Tea party on Apr. 18, and am helping with a Freedom Fest follow up next week... with events planned all summer.
We are having real conservative solutions... and not just badmouthing someone out of some deranged sense of ....???? who knows why you hate so much. It is a useless practice.
Romney-haters like yourself gave us McCain the geezer frump who has completely obliterated and decimated the conservative movement.
So Romney made a few dumb statments in 1994. So freakin' what?
Everybody has said something in the past they regret.
Wake up. Rid yourself of hate for Romney, and go after the real anti-patriot .... those in the Obama administration who are destroying this great country day by day.
I've always been Conservative!

I'll change back to one...

Demonstrating that Romney was a coward and not worthy of any Presidency.
Romney is a pussy who ass-licks Democrats getting their programs inflicted without a vote (cf. gay marriage, and socialized medicine).
Edit35 (RomneyBOT): "Those who so viciously hated and destroyed Romney in 2008 gave us McCain, who has completely obliterated the conservative movement for years to come."
Edit35 (RomneyBOT): "Romney, for his past faults, at least has the balls to speak conservatism and has the guts to go after Obama."
Actually Team Romney supports Obama, and worked for his Election by attacking Gov. Palin and her little children.
So Romney has no balls (see above showing that he is a quitter, too).
That 'raised fees' thing is laughable and juvenile in the extreme.
EVERY governor of every state has seen fees go up, if only to cover inflation. Romney lowered taxes where he could.
His health care plan pushed private plans for all .... with catastrophic health care plans for low income at the core .... which is NOT the same as Hillary's single payer government-run health care where the government pays for every little thing for everyone everywhere.
That is another canard the Romney haters use..... If I recall, even the Heritage Foundation supported Romney's plan.
As for your gay marriage claim, that is more delusion. Romney didn't push for gay marriage.
Why don't you Romney haters go after the real enemy... those statists in the Obama administration who are destroying this great nation one industry at a time.... and stop your obsession with a man who is at least speaking out and promoting conservative messages.
I know yus zaht you mean!!
Our country united behind our Glorious leader and NOW we are winning hearts and minds all over the world!
Such an incredible post I don't know where to begin!
Of course that has yet to ever stop me...
First, I assume by your “VILE” comment you have taken me up on my offer to take credit for Diogenesis posts as well.
Most Excellent!
I also can deduce that your definition of “VILE” is “Posting links to documented facts and direct quotes that dispute your unthinking and illogical “Kool Aide” acceptance of Romney's so called “Conservative” Creds and stances”
By your definition may I be the “VILEST” person you come to know, for I WILL NOT go blindly into the night for expediencies sake or to make anyone happy.
Another thing I soooo enjoy on the Romney threads is the irony. My FRiend your post is a full day's supply of my favorite commodity.
First you regale us with a post about your run in with the Teamster thugs, something for which I commend you for.
YET...
You in turn have, and have for some time behaved in an equally ugly way in the digital world on FR, the worlds largest CONSERVATIVE forum, demeaning and insulting what has proven to be, through various polls conducted here, the vast majority of Freepers for whom Mitt Romney was a choice of last resort AT BEST.
Intersting...
You tell us of your years of conservative service, your tireless efforts to support conservative causes, which again I commend, and understand that commitment given my almost 30 years of working numerous local and national campaigns (including running a few local ones) since I first was bitten by the bug as a young 16 year old during Reagan's first run in 1980.
YET...
You complain abut being "harassed" here on Freerepublic, the largest and best CONSERVATIVE site on the WWW for almost 9 years. That is not something I have heard of before and not something I find to be normally associated with Conservative activities except perhaps when one is off the reservation in some way, and that only comes in response normally, not in some proactive form, to the words of the so called "victim". Suffice to say it is "suspicious" at best...
Another YET to the fact above, you seem to almost blindly support Mitt, and I have yet to really see ANY admission that he has had serious issues in the past despite whatever he says now. It would be one thing to say "he's changed" he has "seen the light" but many of his team act as if the sum total of his ENTIRE political career is nothing but a duplication of his words and a few actions over the past 18-24 months. It is as of "pre presidential run" Mitt never existed.
Pragmatism and reality are hallmarks of the Conservative way.
Anyways a last few thoughts. If the opportunity ever arises for my personal life to be the subject of anything, so be it, it is rather dull though accomplished. And I do not hate Romney, indeed I voted for him in the last FR poll, and would have at the polls if need be. But I refuse to cheer lead those I don't fully trust until it is the last resort, and even then I am willing to take my lumps to stand my ground.
I also have no desire to silence you or anyone one. Indeed quite the opposite, I would campaign to keep the "Team Romney" folks active here on FR if it ever got down to a "Rudy" like purge. Now don't go getting mushy on me, thinking that I am being all fair and stuff, actually I want you guys here for purely selfish reasons. See I have found that when it comes to opposing Mitt, as a group, you Romney supporters are our best asset, our most effective team members. So keep up the good work...
You have Mitt and Rush confused.
RomneyBOT (sociopath in denial): "That 'raised fees' thing is laughable and juvenile in the extreme.
EVERY governor of every state has seen fees go up, if only to cover inflation. Romney lowered taxes where he could."
As Gov of Massachusetts, Romney managed to raise taxes on New Hampshire residents.
How Romney is that?
RomneyBOT (sociopath in denial): "His health care plan pushed private plans for all"
Romney's opening the Belmont criminal alien sanctuary and his inviting millions
of illegal crimigrants for "FREE HEALTH CARE" has bankrupted Massachusetts.
And so Romney fled Massachusetts to La Jolla where they don't know him yet.
RomneyBOT (sociopath in denial): "As for your gay marriage claim, that is more delusion. Romney didn't push for gay marriage."
Twisting words again, for your Master? The word was "IMPOSE". And Romney did.
Democrat, carpetbagger, backstabber Mitt Romney personally, as in himself, as in alone, personally destroyed the Massachusetts Constitution (the oldest in the USA).
"While former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney claims he did everything possible to throttle homosexual marriage in his state his campaign now saying he took "every conceivable step within the law to defend traditional marriage" several constitutional experts say that just isn't so.
"What Romney did [was] he exercised illegal legislative authority," Herb Titus said of the governor's actions after the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court released its opinion in the Goodridge case in 2003. "He was bound by what? There was no order. There wasn't even any order to the Department of Public Health to do anything."
Titus, a Harvard law graduate, was founding dean of Pat Robertson's Regent University Law School. He also worked with former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, ...
Romney's aides have told WND that after four of the seven court members reinterpreted the definition of marriage, he believed he had no choice but to direct clerks and others to change state marriage forms and begin registering same-sex couples.
Some opponents contend that with those actions, Romney did no more or less than create the first homosexual marriages recognized in the nation. And Titus agrees."
"....But the court's decision conflicts with the constitutional philosophy of three co-equal branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial, Titus said. It also violates with the Massachusetts Constitution, which states: "The power of suspending the laws, or (suspending) the execution of the laws, ought never to be exercised but by the legislature..."
And it cannot even be derived from the opinion itself, asserts the pro-family activist group Mass Resistance, which says the decision did four things:
* First, it acknowledged that the current law does not permit same-sex marriage.
"The only reasonable explanation is that the Legislature did not intend that same-sex couples be licensed to marry. We conclude, as did the judge, that G.L. c. 207 may not be construed to permit same-sex couples to marry."
* Second, it said it is NOT striking down the marriage laws (among other things, the Massachusetts Constitution forbids a court to change laws)
"Here, no one argues that striking down the marriage laws is an appropriate form of relief."
* Third, it declared that not allowing same-sex marriages is a violation of the Massachusetts Constitution.
"We declare that barring an individual from the protections, benefits, and obligations of civil marriage solely because that person would marry a person of the same sex violates the Massachusetts Constitution."
* And fourth, given that the court is not changing any laws, the SJC gave the Legislature 180 days to "take such action as it may deem appropriate."
"We vacate the summary judgment for the department. We remand this case to the Superior Court for entry of judgment consistent with this opinion. Entry of judgment shall be stayed for 180 days to permit the Legislature to take such action as it may deem appropriate in light of this opinion."
After the Legislature did nothing during the 180 days, Romney then took action "on his own," the group said.
"Gov. Romney's legal counsel issued a directive to the Justices of the Peace that they must perform same-sex marriages when requested or 'face personal liability' or be fired," the group said."
I guess if it were not for you Mitt supporters the conservative movement would have been dead years ago...
Lord knows if it were not for the efforts of numerous Mitt supporters there would be no FreeRepublic, heck it's owner is the biggest Mitt supporter of them all!
Oh, wait, sorry...
And “Mittwitt” is as mature as “Moron”, seems I have seen that one a few times...
Just a hint, you can defend conservatism against untrust worthy Johnny come Latlys's AND discuss, on the appropriate forum, solutions at the same time.
Oh, and that “you gave us McCain” non sequitir, well it's lame, and REALLY over used now. You know and I know that the primary results don't support that idea in the least. Unless of course you were intending for everyone to just tow the Romney line like good little puppies and not support better conservatives where and as long as possible.
See that whole “primary” thing don't work like that...
Oh, and I go ofter Obama daily.
See I dislike socialism in ALL its forms, and Mitt's mistakes, well there are far from "few" and much more recent than 1994, and a few have the stench of socialism as well. I know all of this because I am very AWAKE, and can read as well...
I would agree that people change and the people you mentioned did change.
However MR has said “I have always been prolife”. No he has not - thats the trust issue.
Go find it yourself loser
That’s a lie. He realized he was wrong and has been pro-life for years
