Time to call out the Big Guns.
Some of you have heard thru FReepmail that a week and a half ago a mass was found during a routine chest X-Ray. 2 days later they did a CT Scan. Yesterday I had a Biopsy done. I just got off the phone with my Doctor.
I have cancer.
Specifically, Adenocarcinoma. More tests need to be done to determine the stage and if it is just the one tumor or if it has spread.
Please include me in your Prayers that this can be treated. The most powerful weapon I can employ in this fight is Prayer.
Thanks for the update, and BB, thanks for the ping. Prayers throughout the day for you and your doctors, and continued prayers for your comfort and peace.
Please, Petruchio, when you give an update, let one of us know so we can ping the others to renewed prayer. Thanks, FRiend.
Thanks, bb...prayers on the way, Petruchio, that you and your doctors can quickly get the battle plan together and full speed ahead to recovery.

I havent heard anything. I was looking to try to give him some perspective on that big scary C word Cancer. While I am not familiar with his particularly familiar whit what version he has, I can tell you that all predictions are just that guesses about the future. There are no certainties in battling cancer. I happen to be somewhat of an expert on living with Stage 4 Liver Cancer.
When I was diagnosed with Stage 4 in February 2003 it was a Colon Cancer that had metastasized to the liver. There were two tumors. One was operable and the other wasnt. So with a great deal of confidence, the doctors went on a short term regimen that was standard practice. Well I told my Doctor to forget about that crap, I wanted to go back to work. I was 59 Years old and loved being a Project/Program/Quality Manager. After six months of Chemo therapy, the Cancer was called Dormant and I went back to work. I worked for 8 months and then the cancer came back with a vengeance. My Oncologist said he had never seen this strain so aggressive. I beat that back again with some very strong Chemo. After a series of all types of surgeries and Chemos, Here I am today; 65 years old, working full time, taking Chemo every three weeks and having the time of my life!
Sure, Im going to die from the Cancer; its started to spread to my lungs, but Im not going to die tomorrow. Where, given their Math, I shouldve been taking a dirt nap in June 2005. I love proving doctors wrong. No one is going to live forever. Live is a terminal illness. I refuse to sit here wringing my hands worrying about when Im going to die. Im at least ahead of a lot of the people; I know what, the when is TBD. I hope Peturchio reads this and understand that now is not the time to give less than 110% to his battle, but he should never fear the outcome. He is not in this battle alone. If he asks, the Big Guy upstairs will walk with him in his journey.
Be well everyone! Wonderful things to you and those you love!
Tom
Still in my prayers.
Prayers here...
He sent His word and healed Petruchio..Psalm 107:20
You certainly are proving them wrong. You give some great advice as well. Keeping a positive attitude is so important. You’ll be in my prayers.
Thanks for the ping; update; testimonial/life. BTTT.
Prayers up for an effective strategy. God Bless you, FRiend.
Prayer bump
I’m sure they will have a plan in place for you. Remember...if you are uncomfortable with something to speak up about it. You also have a part in your treatment. If you can have someone else in the room with you...have them take notes. it’s so frustrating to get home and not remember what was said. I take notes...they are scribbled but when I get home I decipher them and keep a running report. We will pray all goes well for you and that you keep a strong faith, strong mental attitude and know there are so many people praying and pulling for you. My cousin is having chemo now and doing OK. He has lost some weight which is good and has helped him to walk easier. He’s a jokster as well and still seems to have that sense of humor which we all think has helped him a great deal. So, keep smiling!!!! God bless.
I woke last night and said a few prayers.
More prayers are on the way, Petruchio.
Thanks for checking in and for the update ping..my prayers will continue...
Thank you for the update! Prayers continue...
Prayers continue for you, Petruchio.
Continued prayers Petruchio.
When I was not able to go with my dad to his apps, he would call me and put me on speaker phone, so he had another set of ears there.
Prayers for the surgeon and the oncologist, for guidance and wisdom. Cancer is curable, petruchio. Believe it.
Prayers up!
Dittos on the notes and write down your questions too.

What a great idea. I hadn’t thought of that. Good for you guys...that’s really a super idea and hope others reading it will do the same. People are just upset when at the Dr. and they need those x set of ears to get it all right. I will remember that suggestion and...pass it along to others as well. Thanks! Hope your dad is OK.
