'Ammunition Accountability' Legislation. (No ammo sales after 6/30/2009)
email | 4/20/2009

Posted on 04/20/2009 2:33:55 PM PDT by IbJensen

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009.

It has already started: 'Ammunition Accountability' Legislation.

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacturer, a data base of all ammunition sales. So, they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a 05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun! This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Inform your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

With this phantom legislation enroute to the hopper (instead of the waste can) coupled with Pelosi's legislation to tax our already depleted 401Ks, we're in deep trouble.

Should be noted (as always) that the company that owns the patent on this technology is the primary customer of the law firm that authored the legislation in the States.

What better way to sell a product that nobody wants by passing a law requiring that product.

Can you say conflict of interest? I knew you could.

Good luck trying to enforce destroying all that ammo.
Better build another five thousand prisons. For starters.

This news should keep the ammo shelves empty at gun stores nationwide.

Support your right to keep and bear arms: buy a gun and more ammo today!

{The government SHOULD be afraid of us stockpiling... only if it intends to do something blatantly unlawful.}

This is a case of a company inventing a technology that nobody wants and trying to force adoption using political cronies. It's every bit as stupid as "microstamping" cartridges with chambers and firing pins. That's another loser. Ditto for "ballistic databases". All are failed technologies. All are easily defeated. They do nothing except drive up the cost of firearms and ammunition.

Here in Texas, people do not need helmets to ride motorcycles.

Legislation was passed at the urging of the bicycle helmet mfg. So you need one for a bike but not for a Motorcycle.

Good luck getting this passed in MS, SC, AL, TN, KY, AZ, MO and probably PA. In may also be a problem.

Those states were listed but I am sure there will be major pushback on this tax and infringement on the Second.

Sacramento is full of dorks. They can't do anything right. They are in office because a bunch of liberal dorks at the ballot box put them in office. The dorks outnumber the sane folks. I realized I was outnumbered about 10 years ago. It took a year to arrange my escape to Idaho.

This appears to be from last year, it was introduced in the states listed, and died an all states, Nothing was mentioned about that.

Is this a notification that it was reintroduced in all those states, or is it recycled old news?
