I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.
I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.
Please give the location and number of participants.
I'll go first:
Melbourne, FL - 1000.
The local news said there were about about 2500 people in Redding, CA.
Not bad for a city of 60,000 in a blue state, although Redding is still relatively red.
Tri-Cities, Washington (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland) had over 1000 at their peak.

Frankly, I think that is kind of HIGH...but it’d be great if true.

I was at Baton Rouge. I talked to an old political friend of mine who's been around a while and knows crowds. His estimate was "better than 2,000." I don't think the 6,000 number would be accurate.
even though San Jose is a big city, those numbers are not too bad considering how liberal my beloved hometown is...

I see the numbers are posted. It was a great turn out with very little notice and very little time to organize....not to mention such a small city :-)

A large crowd gathered at Lower Greenhorn Park on a sunny, chilly late afternoon Wednesday for the Yreka Tax Day Tea Party, which was held along with tea parties throughout the U.S. in conjunction with the April 15 tax-filing deadline, to protest what organizer John Dunn stated is “extreme spending and continually raised taxes” on the part of the federal government. Speakers at the Yreka event included Anthony Intiso, Dunn, Lyle Sauget and Tamara Brown. Above, organizers collect tea bags from the crowd. Tags from the bags will be sent to Washington, D.C. as a form of protest statement regarding federal tax policy.

Yeah, San Antonio and Sacramento had the same size crowd.
The Sacramento Tea Party was huge. People came from as far away as Oregon to attend. There were a lot of veterans, God bless our military! Neil Cavuto’s staff, that walked among the crowd and talked to us, were very nice and polite unlike the CNN shrews.
News flash for media types and politicians, there were Democrats around us who were just as angry and were protesting Zero and members of the US Congress. The crowd in Sacramento did not consist of just Republicans.

CNN wasn’t at the Sacramento Tea Party, I was referring to the YouTube CNN reporting. Just wanted to clarify what I posted.
