It’s nothing but propaganda 24/7/365 at Pravda on the Pacific.
He waited 2.5 days to give the order to shoot when he could have ordered a Navy Seal team or a special ops team in the first few hours to be flown to the scene within few hours and kill the pirates right there, the 4 ragtag pirates who were already defeated by an unarmed civilian crew. I never doubted for a second that our brave Navy Seals could not resolve the problem successfully once they are ordered to do so. The success was a given because of the incredible professionalism of our military.
The very dangerous thing that came out form this is how the more dangerous enemies such as Al Qaeda, Taliban, Iran, North Korea, etc... view us. These enemies have witnessed how a very weak President forced the mightiest Navy in history to wait 5 days before taking over 3 ragtag pirates on a tiny boat in the middle of the Indian Ocean. An event like this has greatly emboldened them and because of this they are going to cause us a lot of harm.
That is where my money is as well and why ZERO’s WH was caught off guard by the shooting. The Navy had an opportunity and took it.

The situation was resolved successfully. Kvetching about it looks petty in the eyes of people who don’t have an ideological axe to grind. Obama didn’t perform the rescue himself, but it happened on his watch, and he deserves a measure of credit, just as the ultimate responsibility would have been his if it had failed. Trying spin this as anything other than a success is counterproductive and ultimately won’t work. Time to move on to other issues. JMHO.
How can anyone on this board defend ZERO is what I would like to know including “give the man a chance” — ZERO is a liar, Chicago Thug, and IMHO one of the Muslims that Rev Wright talked about that his church gave cover.

The Islamic pirates of Somali and northern Kenya are taking advantage of the fact that they think the “Islamic” Obama is on their side and will do nothing to stop them from achieving great victory for Islam over the rich Americans and then getting billions of dollars from America for the poor of Somalia and Kenya. Most Kenyans consider Obama an “African Islamic”, a native” of Kenyan and a Luo. We know the Luo tribe was receiving updates about the standoff between the Islamic Pirates and out ship. Was the information being passed on to Obama’s via his cousin Odinga Obama?

There were some who defended him and called us unrealistic for showing that he really messed this thing up where the whole crisis could have been solved in the first day if he bothered to order the military to finish the job. NOw the truth comes out as usual and we know that were right about him.
It was micromanaged. He dithered. It turned out well because it was a very small and easily contained crisis. That’s the message that more savvy enemies will pick up. Heaven help us when the next more complex crises arise.

Agreed. Prob’ly the most accurate interpretation of events. Can’t think of a story more poorly reported, nay, mangled, in writings by media people. Best I can say of the coverage is that it may be a reflection of the convoluted ‘information’ from ‘mulling’ sources at the very pinnacle of the chain of command. I was gone for a few days while this was going down or I would have been right with you guys!
So maybe I don’t have quite the understanding I need for this story but these Navy Seals must be something else(well I already knew that) but taking everything you need on land to be a good sniper and then adding in the motion of the ocean(their were on a liferaft right?) those shots must have been something for the record books.
Yes I did not mention how emboldened Russia and China are now.In my opinion both the pro-Western governments of Georgia and Ukraine will be overthrown by the Russia allies in both countries and if necessary the Russian military will interfere to assure the success of the coup d’etat in both countries. The Russian will not even consider Obama when doing this. They know that he is the weakest President ever and he will do nothing about it.
I hope that captive guy was Miranda-ized.
Now I heard today that the FBI is scrambling to find evidence enough to convict him. They have to investigate and dig up proofs in Somali, Kenya, Bongo Bongo or Mugadishyou or wherever.
