I would up the anti and offer the pirates their life in exchange for the captain.
No matter how this turns out before the absolute end of this, these pirates need to be vaporized at the conclusion.
If it were up to me, I’d pay the ransom and as soon as the Captain was safely away from the life raft, sink the damn thing and any other Pirate ships in the area.
I’d then unleash our Special Forces to clean out the Somali rats’ nests.
We’re not dealing with the lovable Captain Jack Sparrow here!
But that’s just me.
I think the negotiations should go something like: “Give up the captain alive and your relatives will get enough of your body parts back to have a proper burial. Harm him and they’ll just get to squeegee whatever fluids are left of you off the bottom of the boat and call it good.”

The world watches, our enemies are watching more closely. This is a minor incident that could have been taken care of with Navy Seals, but they send Navy vessels to threaten a dingy with a few pirates. It is now a major international circus, all eyes are on the American appeaser knowing full well he will capitulate to small time hoods. Obama is going to be tested, said Biden and so he has. We can be thankful for the most part that there aren’t a few hundred Americans held hostage, this will eventually come later after they get thier money and they confirm as the rest of our enemies will , that America will not fight, at least Obama’s America will not fight. This is big trouble for us down the road, what these morons in this administration do today will have dire consequence for us later. Hope for the best, be prepared for the worst!
