'Obama is overwhelmed.' (Obama ally says he's "too tired")
National Review ^ | Sunday, March 08, 2009 | Jim Geraghty

Perhaps it's just some Obama ally speaking out of school. But these are probably some of the most terrifying words to come from an unidentified source in some time:

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".

The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

"That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they're finding it a hard thing to do everything."

It's at moments like this I'm reminded of this assessment of Obama, back in 2007: "I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training."

That assessment came from . . . Vice President Joe Biden.

I have never heard such tripe from a presidential administration. I guess trying to do the work of the government AND private sector would be exhausting.

Obama will get his socialist agenda through, but otherwise he's in over his head. Children are running the country. Very frightening.

I remember hearing someone say once when I was a teen, that even if a person is not quite prepared to take the helm of the presidency, he grows into the job. I didn't know if I quite agreed with that. Carter proved it wrong. Obama's will be greater proof than Carter.

It’s strange with all that education they have no sense of class. Isn’t there staff whose job it is to advise them on proper protocol, to go out and get the gift, to make the dinner, etc?

Do you remember when Biden was talking to their supporters during the general election and Biden said, that Obama would be tested and might respond in a way they didn't like? Biden went on to say they should have faith in Obama and stay behind him.

At first I thought Biden meant if there was an attack, obama wouldn't respond. But then I thought about it later. Biden was addressing THEIR supporters, some of them ACORN and ANSWER types. I think Biden meant Obama would respond in a way the ANSWER and ACORN people wouldn't like.

If there's an attack, IMHO, Obama will respond. Weapons and military force is always okay when the left is in charge.

“With a caveat; if the citizen has or is receiving Govt’ assistance from State or Federal within the last four years, they are ineligible to vote.”

Woot. You just took away votes from veterans who are on disability, and conservatives who are on disability (after they paid into the gubmint from their pay checks all those years they worked just so they’d have that safety net). Let’s find a plan that just eliminates liberal votes. How about, “if the citizen lives in their grandmothers basement, has ever called Bush Hitler, has ever commented on O’s man boobs in a positive way, or has ever registered a Disney Character to vote, they are ineligible to vote.”

.

Never let the enemy’s sword get close to your tongue

You must first emasculate the enemy with your own sharp sword

Perhaps a Chicago butcher will then pass them off as Wagyu beef

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.

The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property‹either as a child, a wife, or a concubine‹must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities.

Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die; but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.

It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome." - Winston Churchill

Yes, but Wilson and Roosevelt were strong Presidents with relatively weak Congresses. Obama is a weak President with a strong Democratic majority that isn't willing to let him set the agenda.

It’s like our country doesn’t really have a president right now.

I predict Sarah Palin will continue to look better and better as the Messiah steadily comes down from the mountaintop.
Sure, Palin will continue to look better and better by contrast to 0bama. But that still isn't nearly good enough. That's like saying Keanu Reeves makes Gary Busey look like a decent actor.

The GOP needs a real heavy weight who can bring back confidence to the American people after watching unPresident 0bama flail for 4 years. I don't think that is going to be Bobby Jindal, either. We need a president who actually knows what he's doing, knows how to manage, and projects it in everything he does. Yes, he needs to be a principled conservative who articulates what that is and why it's important to limit government, be a successful president must be much more than an ideological spokesman.

I think everyone can agree that out of all the people running for President in 2008, Mitt Romney is the man we should have elected for these times. Will he still be the right man for 2012? Who knows. We must continue looking forward to the next election, not trying to refight the last one.

He has money in his pocket, but it’s not like the old days when he could score some cocaine or pot and take the edge off of his stress.

He’s a junkie and he’s getting the sweats.

Doesn’t matter what the addiction is, recall how he pledged to give up cigarettes and renegged on that promise.

What will he do when the stress level really gets up there?

Will the Wednesday cocktail parties start to resemble Governor Jerry Brown’s parties?

Did Mr. Obama ever release his medical history? Bill Clinton did not. The Left poured over every detail of McCain’s record.
