Bill Clinton had the Vince Foster "murder." George W. Bush had 9/11 Truth. And the new administration has brought with it a new culture of conspiracy: The Birthers.
Out of the gaze of the mainstream and even the conservative media is a flourishing culture of advocates, theorists and lawyers, all devoted to proving that Barack Obama isn't eligible to be president of the United States.
Viewed as irrelevant by the White House, and as embarrassing by much of the Republican Party, the subculture still thrives from the conservative website WorldNetDaily, which claims that some 300,000 people have signed a petition demanding more information on Obama's birth, to Cullman, Alabama, where Sen. Richard Shelby took a question on the subject at a town hall meeting last week.
Their confinement to the fringe hasn't cooled the passion of believers; the obscure New York preacher James Manning turned up at a National Press Club session in December to declare the president "the most notorious criminal in the history not just of America, but of this entire planet."

The only two jobs in the entire nation which require Natural Born Citizen status are POTUS and VPOTUS. A pilot does not have to be a natural born citizen.
Judicial Watch is a great organization.
However, they tend to file cases where they already know the answers.

No they have not. They've said that there is a birth certificate on file, not that the Certification that was released by the Obama campaign is correct. In fact they say they haven't seen the birth certificate, but only verified that there is one in the Hawaii records. It *could* be any of several sorts, with only one of those being a Certificate of Live Birth.
However I suspect it most likely is such a certificate, but that it shows that the birth was not in a hospital, and was reported by his mother and grandmother, not by a doctor and/or hospital registrar.
Those are all ISSUE ORIENTED groups.
The issue here is a bit different.
Rush Limbaugh would never have made it, either, if we had to wait on the approval of all the other Radio personalities.
Wait just a minute here..ok? Starwise has been one of those questioning Obama’s BC from the beginning! She has probably just posted this article because she is a so-called ‘birther’. I have never gotten any other impressions from her posts. So please....before you go off on the girl..do your homework.

There is no “investigative journalism” when it comes to liberal Democrats.
First of all, they never said anything about Obama's birth records. STRIKE ONE.
Secondly, it was the Director of Hawaii's DOH who issued a statement on Oct 31 after the Director of Vital Records confirmed the presence of OBama's original birth certificate. STRIKE TWO.
Lastly, the DOH Director did NOT say WHERE, WHEN, or to WHOM, Obama was born -- she only said that Hawaii has his original birth certificate on record.
Finally, Hawaii has issued a Government-Wide GAG ORDER preventing anyone from saying anything more about Obama's birth record.
Obama would rather see America go down in flames than to ever show his original birth certificate.
Excuse me...but Starwise has been questioning Obama’s eligibility and BC for a long time. She has probably posted this as an ‘interest’ to those following the whole story. I hate it when so-called Freepers jump down others throats without knowing the whole story.
The man is a usurper to the office of the President of the United States.

Not even that, it latter clarified to indicate that she had not actually seen the certificate, but rather seen that one is on file. She has no more legal access to the certificate itself than you or I do.
Link to said statement? Or the relevant HI code that covers access to public records before she made that statement?

So now you're saying the Governor is tacitly admitting that the state is in the business of keeping illegitimate BC's on file?
Reasonable people can debate whether or not what's been seen on the internet represented as Barry CB is legit. Reasonable people can debate whether or not what may or may not be on the BC could be troubling for Barry.
But, you dive into the unreasonable when you start implying that the Governor and the Lt. Gov. are being disingenuous or as some have suggested, are being bribed or are part of a larger cabal. This is ridiculous. And trying to parse the Governors statement for the tiniest wiggle room is equally ridiculous.
There's a Birth Certificate on file in HI. It says Barry was born in HI and it's legitimate. Any talk to the contrary is nuts.
Also, it is entirely possible to get a “Certificate of Live Birth” in any state, even if you were born at sea, in the air, or in a foreign country.
You have no curiosity, at all, do you? Why spend all of this money, in court? Why subject the country to this “conspiracy theory” if you have it in your power to end it all, in a heart beat?
That's what makes it really hilarious. The Birthers are the same people who would be screaming their heads off about Big Brother (albeit with some justification) if those privacy protections were relaxed.
Obama and his people have enough political savvy to let this goofball conspiracy theory simmer and discredit people who raise other, more valid, points against him. See Michael Medved's comments from the Politico article.
And all that it would take to end all of this is access being granted to the actual original, not an abstract, and that is where this ends one way or another.
When I bothered to follow this, the HI original birth certificate was a multi page document back in the 60’s.

Now one can say that one is satisfied in what has been released so far, others demand more proof, and that is the camp I find myself in, Obama or a family member can release the original at any time and end this line of doubt.
